A piece of South African history dating back to the apartheid era! There is so much to see and read. You can spend hours reading all the letters and communication between Evita (Pieter Dirk Uys) and government officials, including Nelson Mandela. This is definitely worthwhile to visit. Atmosphere: 5
I expected Kitsch as described by many over the years but it's not that. It has character. Pieter Dirk-Uys's brilliance as an artist is captured in everything on the premises and inside it. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person R 50–100 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

A witty piece of history shaped like a melktert. It was probably the reason you stopped in Darling in the first place. Have some cake and local Darling Brew with the knowing smile of Evita watching you 👀. Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person R 50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stopped for a quick walk to soak in the Quirkiness of Evita se Peron. As we had eaten already we did not try the restaurant. The art and memorabilia is an important reminder of how far the people of SA has come.
Great gallery exposing the history and negative effects of the ruling party decisions. Pieter-Dirk Uys always add a smile to the sad past. Service Dine in Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Great spot for a good 'boere' breakfast. They have the most delicious (and massive) koeksisters that R7.50 can buy. Slightly more cramped now that they have moved the dining area into a smaller area, but warm and cosy on a cold day. Friendly service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Such a cool place. Definitely a must visit in Darling. The museum was very interesting. Meal type Other Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
Traveltime Tours visited the Darling Wildflower show - it was a well organized exhibition but the cherry 🍒 on the top was the decadent chocolate cake and coffees at Evita se Perron with the very warm welcome from Fritz - lovely end to our day !!! Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person R 100–150 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
As a young Afrikaaner growing up in the 80's, I never realised how brave and clever a man dressed as a woman could be. Evita, you legend, you deserve an Oscar. (Not the one that shot his girlfriend) Trip down memory lane, unmissable. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Evita se Peron is a delight to visit. Despite some changes over the years, the place has not lost it's theatrical charm. It's certainly worth a visit to catch up on some of South Africa's memorable political milestones. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
