I’ve been in El Tunco for almost a week now and have come to esquina los amigos almost every day since I got here. As someone who has never had pupusas in my life, I am now a bonafide pupusa addict. It’s because of this place. I have tried pupusas at another place in El Tunco and the pupusas here at Los Amigos are so much better. They load these things up with so much cheese that I am thankful I only have a mild lactose intolerance.
I have also tried their steak dish ($8) and that was probably the best seasoned steak I’ve ever had, even better than some of the fine dining steakhouses in Las Vegas that I have been to. I thought it was going to be overcooked because it took forever to come, but when I took my first bite, I was so pleasantly surprised and amazed.
One day, I tried the chocolate with banana pupusa and I don’t think I will ever look at dessert in the US the same way ever again. That was life changing! Oh, and did I mention this place is so cheap? I always spend under $5 with the exception of when I ordered the steak. This is my favorite place to eat in all of El Tunco.

Great pupusas, long wait if during the weekend. Probably 90 minutes for 4 pupusas due to other orders, if not busy stop in but if tables are full keep walking

Best pupusas I’ve had in El Salvador so far. I went here for breakfast every morning. Thank you for reminding me of home. It gives you that local feel that a lot of the more expensive restaurants can’t replicate. Just so good.

I only had variety of pupusas. The price is phenomenal of most being $1.
They are more on the drier side and smaller. Personally, I’m not a pupusa person so I might not be the best judge of this place.
Everyone was nice and helpful.
Def a wait because they come out freshhhh
Coming back to say I tried the breakfast and at $3/4? It was a great meal! They included veggies in there too and that was nice.
Loooooved their piña juice as well.

Best pupusas in town! I came here about 5 times over 4 days, only $1 per pupusa, about 20 different filling options, and they're happy to swap out the cheese for beans if you're vegan! Also... the watermelon juice - insane! Definitely kept me alive in the heat and cured my hangovers. They also have sweet fillings for pupusas, which are definitely worth a try!

The best spot for pupusas! They have a nice variety and most pupusas are $1. I highly recommend the garlic and cilantro and the banana and chocolate pupusa. We also got fish for $5 a plate one day but be sure to ask the price before ordering because another day it was $15 a plate. The fish was delicious. We also got the chicken salad which was a basic salad with a bunch of chicken pieces thrown over it.

Hit it 👍🏿! This is an absolutely lovely, family-owned place. With all the eats that you want to find in El Tunco. The restaurant is obviously family owned and run very well. Prices are competitive and beers are not overpriced. I ended up coming back here more than once. Pupusas were really good!

The pupusas and watermelon juice taste really great. I had the cheese with locoro and cheese and ayote it tasted really good and was so filling. And paid only 2$ for them. The staff is also friendly!

Pupusas are bad and staff is unfriendly. For lunch we ordered a cheese garlic Pupusa and a cheese loroco Pupusa. Both pupusas themselves were tasteless and we couldn't even tell which one was garlic and which one was loroco. We only tasted cheese... At night we tried again with a sweet one; banana chocolate. We waited for about an hour and we asked a few times but still they managed to forget us or something? After an hour we got our Pupusa, which tasted terrible. The 'chocolate' was just sugar.

Strange place. It was really busy on a Saturday night with tourists and locals however the people running it were so unfriendly. Shame tbh
It took over an hour for 3 pupusas to come up. Also when we paid the bill they added 50cent to each drink we ordered as a "nighttime fee" very disappointing experience, and a bad rep for the usually lovely salvadorian people. Go somewhere else
