Haley our waitress was the star of the night, she treated us like family, was prompt, excellent suggestions, stories, compliments, and made the atmosphere of the night much better. The food is solid, came out extremely quick on a fairly busy night. Happy to come back and enjoy the experience again. Tables were clean, very attentive bartenders and managers, and great restrooms. My visit today was amazing. I left having eaten a lot more food than I planned. great atmosphere and everyone so friendly! Haley was our waitress and we just thought she was great! The dessert and drinks are awesome! I don’t even like Tres leches and their recipe, and the flan is probably the best I’ve had in my life. I’ve been craving a Mexican martini in this did not disappoint. The Mojito was also delightful. We also enjoyed queso and split beef fajitas. The side portions of refried beans and Spanish rice were huge. All the portion sizes were very generous. It was a wonderful way to celebrate my birthday. Our server, Raul, was absolutely amazing and made great recommendations. He was very attentive and polite. I got the chilaquiles with the habanero sauce, Raul's suggestion because I wanted spice, and it was delicious! The carne was a little tough but had good seasoning, I don't suggest the cilantro rice. It's butter rice with cilantro on top. The ceviche was DELICIOUS!!!! My husband got the tostadas from the brunch menu and he really enjoyed them. My daughter got the tacos de pescado... The cabbage is just purple cabbage, not pickeld. The corn tortilla fell apart. She enjoyed the striped bass but it didn't have much seasoning. The charro beans lacked flavor as a whole. Escalante's is an Upscale Mexican Tex Mex restaurant it is delicious food but the service is slow and overpriced when you can have tacos or steak anywhere else for half the price or less, but it is also based on location so your paying for that Woodlands tx scenery. The food presentation is wonderful and the food never disappoints it is really beautiful to sit outside and enjoy the view. It's not a place to go all the time but it is a place to enjoy here and there especially for a date or meeting etc. if you find yourself in the woodlands and want to enjoy tex mex give it a try. The restaurant itself is nice and the staff is all friendly and most speak fluent Spanish. Came here for the first time in awhile. There weren’t very many people eating here on a Sunday evening. The waiter was fairly nice, the food came pretty quickly after ordering, and it was pretty good. We were chatting for a while, afterward, and I had already paid the bill, so the waiter had already abandoned our table, and I had to ask three different people for a tea refill before I got it. Not the end of the world, but we were still there, you know? Felt kind of rushed to leave even though the restaurant was mostly empty and there was an hour to go before closing. Pretty decent Tex Mex food with outstanding, top notch service by friendly, attentive hosts. Our family of six (including two rambunctious young boys) were extremely well cared for from start to finish. Kids menu included. Typical Tex Mex had a nice lunch. There are healthy options on the menu. The staff was nice and food came out prompt. It was nothing that great but it hit the spot due to its location I would go again except there are many other great spots next door. The fish place is also amazing!
