This is one of 4 Elysee bakeries around Macau, located at the corner of Avenida de Dom Joao IV and Rua do Comandanta Mata e Oliveia, not far from food favourite Margaret's Cafe e Nata near the Historic City Centre of Macau. Opening hours for the new shop are set for 11am to 8pm daily (at least for now).
Have enjoyed the new branch but wish they would open earlier in the day. Croissants are light and fluffy but not as flaky as croissants from their original and Taipa based bakeries. The Pain au Chocolat is pretty good as well, a bit heavier than those from their other branches. Both breads taste nice and are worth returning for.
Glad to have this more centrally located Elysee Bakery which is a great addition to the food scene near the Historic City Centre of Macau.
We just had the Portuguese tarts and they were the best in Macau! (Although a lot of guidebooks and blogs won’t tell you that). They’re not like the other tarts in Macau which are more like Chinese egg tarts.
