Disappointing experience overall. We were expecting a great meal with great service. The potential was there with a setting on campus in a historic building. Seevers were stretched thin and staff appeared stressed. The food had a decent taste but was mostly overcooked. Wait times for drinks and food were excessive. Servers were friendly and the drinks were on point when you could get one. Another party left after being seated for about 15 minutes without any service. Absolutely spectacular dining experience. Service is excellent, kind, attentive, atmosphere is like fine dining but relaxed and comfortable. But the food, the food! You can’t pick anything wrong on the menu. The cocktails are also top notch. This is a hidden gem, the best kept secret of the town! A must try. This is hands-down our favorite spot for Sunday brunch! Overall atmosphere is awesome, service is always spot on and super friendly. Just a beautiful place. We love the menu and love the food. Brunch menu is very fair priced. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Blueberry Pancake Stack
I’m disappointed in Ella’s. My husband and I got married at Carnall Hall 4 years ago (leap day 2020) and the chef at the time prepared a custom, plant-based menu for our event. It was amazing. Fast forward to this year … all we wanted was to celebrate our “1-year” back at the spot where we got married. Unfortunately, the current chef could not really accommodate. He was only willing to modify 2 existing items (a salad and an entree) by removing animal products if we chose to dine there. We asked if they could prepare a specific menu for us. We gave them a months notice to come up with an option. We offered to compensate based on the additional work and request - but were denied. Not to mention, our anniversary falls on a Thursday night. Are they really that busy? It’s a shame. If they offered a more well rounded menu, we would continue to spend money there. I guess we’ll have to check back in 4 years. Hopefully they are more creative then. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
Careful! The wait staff offered us a soup or salad without telling us it wasn’t included in the meal. Soup was an extra $6 and salad was $11! We were a large party and half of us didn’t even like what was offered. The greens tasted off and really bitter and the soup was just overpriced watered down chili. I was also charged a 20% gratuity which was expected, but then they slipped in another $22 after I paid! Haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone to fix that problem. Dishonest service! Ellas Table brunch was amazing! Presentation was excellent, the food tasted fresh and delicious. I especially loved their biscuits and gravy, which featured a slight spicy gravy that was distinct in flavor and so good. The setting is phenomenal, right on campus of the U of A. Great place to walk around afterwards if you’re wanting fresh air. We’ll be back! We’d love to try an evening dinner meal here next.

Food was spectacular, service was great and restaurant was pristine. I had the pork chop and my husband had the lamb. We also ordered the elk appetizer. For desert, we ordered the chocolate samore pie. Everything was outstanding and portions were generous. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went for lunch a few months back and ordered a Reuben, it was so bad, not cooked, definitely was not seasoned, too much fat, I did not eat a bite. Will never be back. Someone needs to look at food taken out of the kitchen ! Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

My dad said that he could have made the biscuits and gravy better homemade, I said that if they had the chef’s at Mockingbird Kitchen then the price would make sense, and my sister said the food would be better at iHop. The service was good - and a lot better than you get most places these days. The drinks were nice and the ambiance was lovely, but the food itself was a huge disappointment. They topped off my creole omelette with what seemed like a whole canned tomato. And the omelette itself was ok. The sourdough was bland. And the Benedict needed to be toasted. All in all, it just felt like the ingredients were store bought and cheap. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $30–50 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

I really enjoyed the Gravlax offering. They were very kind to bring out plain cream cheese when I mentioned that the dill blend wasn't my favorite on a salmon bagel pairing. The coffee was especially tasty as well. Added a biscuit and gravy side. It was yummy though the tomato flavor to the gravy was a surprise and moved it from the Comfort Food I was expecting to Fun New Food. I enjoyed it all Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Biscuits and Gravy
