I have been eying this place for months now. Finally went about an hour before closing. Very cute, very old and small building. There are but a few tables outside under a big tree that gives you plenty of shade. There was a line but it went pretty fast. The paper menu helped me decide what I wanted while I was in line. The front lady that took my order was so nice, funny and chatty, loved her. People seemed very pleased with their foods. I chose a full rack of ribs. I had no idea how big these ribs were. We did not get any sides since we are not crazy about baked beans. The hot sauce was good but barely hot. I thought that the ribs were under seasoned and a little dry, it really needed lots of sauce. I really wanted to love it. I think the price was great for the quantity.

It would be impossible to overstate how wonderful any and every thing about this place is. The dine in is a new thing I haven't seen as I am in Thailand now. I lived a qtr mile from the place and went there weekly. I missed out when they sold out a few times.. So i always made a point of being early rather than late. I really miss that place....and I miss my talks ( so many years ago) with Eli.

Good southern BBQ is the total focus of this place. The smokehouse is 4x the size of the service window. It’s hands down the best in the area. A total gem!

Absolutely one of a kind BBQ place. I got a burnt ends family dinner 1 lb meat and a 16 oz coleslaw 16 oz baked beans. Everything is phenomenal. The baked beans was the best. Strongly recommend.

A bit disappointed with the chopped sausage and ribs. Blackeyed pea salad was amazing. Been awhile since we have been here and sausage used to be lfull chunks, much better. Ribs were a bit chewy, could have cooked longer.

We just left the beach and I Googled Barbeque in Dunedin I got 3 choices but when we drove by this quaint mom and pops we knew it would be the real deal. We definitely were not disappointed and they were celebrating the life of Eli one if the founders ao we got to participate and enjoy good food and people. We definitely will be going back for more.

Traditional Family BBQ shack.
Nice picnic atmosphere with patio tables under a large tree and adjacent to the bike path.
Very friendly staff and characterful.
The BBQ is always going but it also means you have to time your visit or be prepared that certain meats are not ready yet.
This is a cash only venue but it is worth it.
The beans and coleslaw are very tasty. Every meat is good. You have to 'pre order' some foods for the next day (like burnt ends).
