Best food in Panama. We are vegetarian and they only have 1 veg dish but omg is it amazing we came back twice. Guessing the meat dishes are as amazing. Highly recommend! So affordable too and truly good local gem

This place has 1 vegetarian option, and 1 is all you need because it could possibly be the best Carribean vegetarian plate ever! The coleslaw is so fresh, the beans are hearty and in a rich stew and the hot sauce is simply the perfect condiment.
It so good we came back twice. And, the price is by far the cheapest place on the island that we've been 2. $10 dollars for 2 people and that includes freshly squeezed papaya juice (one of the most refreshing drinks I've ever had)!
Considering how good the vegetarian dish was, I can only imagine how good the meat ones are.
Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to the best Carribean food on the island.

There’s two main types of restaurants in Bocas. There’s ones that cater to tourists by serving some slightly exotic version of basic stuff like pizza or pasta. Maybe you get a pineapple slice on your burger. They charge about what it would cost for a legitimately creative and tasty version back in the US.
Then there’s this kind of place. They blatantly cater to the local population. Their food tastes like it has real spices in it. The ingredients are whatever they are really good at using and somewhat unique to each restaurant. And they charge an almost embarrassingly low amount for very big meals.
This is very definitely the second type of restaurant and you should eat here.
No A/C. It closes at 5pm. It very much does not exist for your convenience as a tourist. But the food makes everything else worth the trip.

We went there in December of 2021 the food was super delicious enjoyed every minute of it and the drink was off the chain, if you visit please stop and enjoy some good Panamanian food.
