Came in for a last minute decision on a place to eat and was NOT disappointed! We were seated immediately without a wait. We were served delicious miso and clear mushroom soup, which was fantastic as it was very cold outside. We chose Shrimp Tempura Upon Soup dinner which came with fried rice on the side, a beautiful mixed vegetable medley and outstanding calamari!!! We will happily come back for more! My husband and I's experience at this resturaunt was outstanding! I would honestly rate more than 5 stars if I could! We came during dinner time (probably 6 or 7 PM). Service was super fast and very attentive! Our waiter had a big smile on his face and was super polite! Brought my husband a refill before he even realized it was half full! We had the fried calamari, eel roll, 99 roll, tonkatsu pork, grilled seafood. The calamari was cooked perfectly, I could bite through it with my front teeth and even with the better calamari I've had I don't think I've ever been able to do that! The eel roll and 99 roll were both excellent. My husband thought that the rice seemed soft and overcooked but I noticed they seem to use long grain rice instead of the very short grained sushi rice, this is likely why it seems softer. To me it's not a deal breaker, it tasted just fine so I was plenty happy! I also highly recommend the 99 roll it is bursting with flavor! The miso soup, salad, and fried rice that came with the entres were all good. I was a bit sad at the fried rice not having any veggies but the flavor was so good I did not mind. I realized when I finished the rice that it looked like they are using either butter or ghee (or some other kind of light yellow oil, noticed traces of it on the inside of the bowl) and that would explain it tasting so good! The entres, my husband and I both sampled eachother's, his seafood tasted excellent, was cooked perfectly, and had excellent flavor. My tonkatsu, I'm not even kidding and I'm saying this 100% sober, the sauce tastes like Christmas. It's okay, you can laugh, I'm still laughing about it myself. But no seriously, it is heavy with ginger and sugar which reminds me of gingerbread (it works with the sauce though and isn't overpowering) and has a very strong citrus flavor that might be yuzu? I haven't actually had it myself so I don't actually know what it tastes like, but it tasted like lemon crossed with orange and very tart like a cranberry sauce. I could be completely wrong though, maybe it's just good old citric acid. Whatever it is, I absolutely loved it and would happily come back for the tonkatsu and that sauce! Oh and I also see an earlier review stating they wished you could choose between fried rice and steamed, you can! Our waiter asked us which one we wanted before putting in our order. If there was one thing I could gripe about it would be that the sushi menus need to be redone, they need to be laminated so they are easier to clean. They are grimey and I can tell they had tried to clean them by how wet they are but there is only so much you can do with paper, putting a plastic coating on them will really help with that! I would not say that this ruined my experience though. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Stopped in about 2:30 yesterday. My daughter in law was there for her birthday the 28th and had a great experience. Brought home leftovers that were delicious. So when I went by for takeout I was excited. Ordered fried rice with beef and soup with fish along with the lunchbox and egg rolls. Terrible disappointment. Cooked rice with a few pieces of beef thrown in. Egg rolls were fine. Soup was unflavored broth. I shrimp and thick noodles on the side. The sushi was ok. Spent nearly $60 with tip. This gem is located in a little strip shopping center right off of the HWY I30. The food....WOW! We started with a tempura appetizer consisting of shrimp, broccoli, mushroom, onion, and sweet potato....came out hot and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Temptation Roll; it was one of the best rolls ive ever had, and i have had my share of sushi rolls. My lovely lady got the deep fried Happy Roll....it was outstanding. Also ordered a side of fried rice....listen, if you like fried rice you have to come and get it here, havent had better in DFW. Great atmosphere, decent prices, and excellent food. The server Justin was perfect; friendly, prompt, knowledgeable, and great at recommending different different dishes. The manager Michael is running a nice place here. Our new Japanese spot. You won't regret it whatsoever. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–50
The SERVICE at this place was disappointing. The moment we walked in the host was terrible about seating us. After sitting waiting for 20+ minutes We had to ask her twice if we have a waiter and who our waiter is. Which was the guy at the bar but he was swapped and could barely assist us. None of the other waiters helped. Once our food came out it was completely wrong and we never received other items, we finally asked for the manager and she was completely dismissive and never apologized. She replied with “so what’s the problem” and “well you can just leave” we were in complete shock. After that no one came to ask us if we needed anything else. Poor management = poor service. Sushi chef didn't bat an eye. Definitely didn't speak one single word our way. The waiter was off his game. Didn't remove any dishes that weren't in service. We had a pile on the counter. No, they weren't busy, at all. The rolls were loose and fell apart as we tried to pick them up with chopsticks. It's my first time in. Last time out. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

Honeymoon had to enjoy our fav: Sushi! Great place for it! Love the sushi And hibachi! Great service! Grilled seafood hibachi platter was all perfectly done. To nail the scallops tender & warm is always a skill! Perfect shrimp, salmon, onions, and everything else, all tied together with a wonderful sauce. Great timing to get all done right And blend flavors so well. Sushi was fantastic, too! Smoke Salmon Killer is toasted, so warm salmon ready to enjoy! Not such a fan of eel sauce but a dip in soy moved it up several points in flavor rating!! Hawaiian is Tuna and avocado atop a California roll. +Yum! And Chefs Rockwell fire roll (local name) was a great combo of flavors! We will return, with friends, Snd for our Anniversaries! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100

My husband and I split a shrimp hibachi with an extra soup and salad and added fried rice. We both thought everything was cooked to perfection. The shrimp was the right texture and the flavor was very good. The rice was excellent! Soft, fluffy, flavorful. The salad was very good! The dressing was fresh, not like what you typically get - the bright orange "ginger" dressing. The clear soup was ok, im used to a darker broth but it was still palatable. Glad we stopped here!
