It was all right. I glad I stopped by, but it would not be at the top of my “come back” list.
Beef liver was too dry, green beans were too soft, but anyway it was not bad. Just OK. Chicken Parmesan and ice cream were good.

It is a family restaurant, very relaxing. Service is nice, friendly. Food is just simple, not fancy. Taste fine for a reasonable price. I like the mash potato and gravy.

Meatloaf Dinner
I was on a long road trip home and realized I needed to do something time sensitive work on my phone. So I randomly pulled over here. The staff was very friendly and mostly left me to my own devices after ordering, which is what I wanted! I ordered something called a haystack. It was a heavy meal! Really stuck the ribs and weighed me down but… that’s not to say it was bad! This was 8 years ago, in August 2015, so clearly it’s still in my mind. I wish I had an excuse to drive all the way out there and have it again!
Oh, and because I saw a bunch of confused people in the reviews… “Dutch” doesn’t refer to the people from the Netherlands, but rather it refers to the large German population that immigrated to PA. Dutch came from the German word for themselves “Deutsch”. Dutch used to just refer to all German Language groups in the 1600-1800’s which is when these immigrants came here!

Clearly a favorite of the locals and after eating there I understand why. Prices are very reasonable, portions are rather large. Staff is friendly and efficient. We will definitely stop in next time we are traveling in the area.

Honestly, food wasn’t great but it was cheap and filling. The quaint decor and hospitality make this restaurant lovable and charming. Considering the food options in the area: if you’re hungry on the road, this gets the job done.

Great place for nostalgia, both in decor and food offerings. I tried Scrapple for the first time, now I want to go home and revisit my grandma's recipe. I also had a veggie omlette that hit the spot. Hubsy had the creamed chipped beef, which brought back memories from his childhood. It's definitely worth checking out.

The staff were super friendly and provided EXCELLENT service. We were offered so much coffee that we almost floated out of the restaurant!
I had the meat breakfast bowl, which was very tasty. My wife's food was very good as well.
Prompt service.
The decor was very eclectic and fun.
Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious. You can tell when an egg is a nice fresh brown egg. The yolk is just full of rich flavor. The Scrapple was okay. Just not used to the texture. And English muffin. Great hot breakfast.

Great place for breakfast! I had the all American and it was very good. Very home cooked taste and feel. The coffee was good as well. I saw shoo fly pie on the menus and had to try it. I’ve never seen that where I’m from so when I’m Rome. It was very sweet but lacked on the flavor. I was hoping to have more of a molasses flavor but it was kinda bland, sweet but bland. Overall the place is great. My server was very attentive and friendly.
