DoubleTap offers a mixed dining experience with its scenic location beside Taiping Lake, ample parking spaces, and friendly staff. However, certain aspects leave room for improvement.
Upon arrival, I appreciated the convenience of the parking spaces, making it hassle-free to access the restaurant. The menu boasts a decent variety, catering to different tastes and preferences, although some may find the selection to be lacking in depth.
The highlight of the dining experience was undoubtedly the friendly and attentive staff, who made every effort to ensure a pleasant visit. However, the portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price, leaving diners feeling somewhat shortchanged.
The proximity to Taiping Lake is undoubtedly a bonus, providing a picturesque backdrop for dining. However, the air conditioning inside the restaurant left much to be desired, with temperatures bordering on uncomfortably warm, especially for extended stays.
In summary, while DoubleTap offers a convenient location, friendly service, and scenic views, there are areas that could be improved, such as portion sizes and air conditioning. With some adjustments, it has the potential to become a standout dining destination in Taiping.

Black Pepper Chicken Chop
An inviting cafe nestled beside Taipeng Lake, offering a delightful array of dishes. The overall dining experience is pleasing, particularly the delectable French Toast with maple syrup – a favorite for my son. The cozy ambiance encourages a leisurely stay, easily surpassing two hours. While slightly on the pricey side, the quality and comfort make it worth the indulgence.

Cheesy Lava Toast
Came here for dinner as it was just a quick stroll from our hotel. The cafe is in a good location - right across from the beautiful Taiping Lake Gardens. We ordered a grilled chicken chop which was all right. My tuna croissant was palatable but the tuna needed some mayonnaise as it was too dry and kept falling off the croissant! The mushroom soup could be improved too. The service is good and it’s a spacious cafe, located in an old bungalow.

Love the ambience and spacious design of the cafe. Lots of variety of food. Flat white was decent and their rum raisin cake tasted really good. Overall a lovely place to chill.

This cafe is just 2 mins walk away from Hotel Flemington. Chill vibes with spacious seating & pretty good bites. Cafe latte tend to be more on the acidic side but still

Only the environment is acceptable, the rest was under standard... Waited for 1 hours for 2 chicken chop? End up with Salted Egg Chicken Chop with no Salted Egg taste.. Honestly, this cafe disappointed us, no next time.

I stopped in here after the Lake Gardens and it was quite refreshing. I got a sandwich and a couple drinks to go so I didn’t stay long but the decor was cute and the bathroom was clean. The staff were so friendly while I waited. Both the drinks I got were excellent, cold brew coffee and lemon ginger cold tea. The bacon cheese sandwich was fine, good and fresh ingredients. The place is just a bit pricey I think but the service and atmosphere were great.

Second visit to this cafe and overall experience was alright although both garlic & kimchi fried rice was just very average in taste & signature pasta didn’t look appetising. Price wise and portion considered reasonable.
Everything is self service at this cafe and food has to be ordered at the counter and payment to be made before meal is served. Overall ambience was relaxing.
Can't speak to the food, but the coffee Freddo was solid, and the location was prime! Lots of space, and one of the nicest cafe bathrooms in Malaysia so far!
