This is my first time writing a review for Boba/Milk tea cafe and Dot’s went above and beyond for their amazing service. I ordered on a third party app and the driver took the wrong order. The staff & owner went above & beyond to call me and have my order delivered. Yummy rice bowls, fresh brewed milk tea. The first place I've seen wheel pies in the US. There are nine varieties. They are running a limited time offer right now so you can try a bunch of flavors. The specialty focus for the tea drinks seem to be a variety of black sesame milk tea, latte, and cheese cream drinks. Not much seating, this is more of a buy and eat on the go place. So, enjoy your wheel pie and tea while having a nice stroll on Ocean avenue. Service Take out Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Oreo Nutella

We didn't notice the deal so we were pleasantly surprised by the Buy 3 Wheel Pie, get 1 Free - you will need to order from the counter to get the deal. We got the flavors - Salty Egg Pork, Nutella Oreo, Red Bean Mochi, and Egg Custard. We really recommend the salty egg pork. All the other Wheel Pies were ok. BOGO when you check in on Yelp and show them at the counter. New boba spot in the Ingleside district! Stopped by on their 3rd day of opening and there were a good amount of people there. It's currently their soft opening so they have limited drinks and wheel pie flavors. Their drinks don't run too sweet which is perfect for people like me! [ O R D E R E D ] 1. Black Sesame Milk Tea Ice Cream ($6): Perfect balance between black milk tea and black sesame paste. I was worried that the sesame would overpower but it mixes perfectly with the tea. The drink is also finished off with a scoop of sesame ice cream, which sinks to the bottom and melts quickly. So if you want to enjoy the ice cream, drink it right away! 2. Mango Sago ($6): This drink is a classic. It's light and creamy. Not too sweet. You can tell they use real mango by looking at the color and texture of the drink. There's chunks of mango and sago on the bottom. I noticed that when they blend the mango, there's some foam still sitting on the top of the drink, which makes it look like the cup is full and after a while, an inch of your drink disappears. I totally understand it wasn't the staff's intention to jip/gyp us, but hopefully they'll perfect the drink as they go. 3. Taro Sago ($6): This drink also tasted very fresh! Not too sweet. Chunks of taro on the bottom. Cant go wrong with this drink! 4. Black Sesame Wheel Pie ($3): I dig it! The batter texture is more like eggettes than waffles. It's spongy and soft on the inside. The inside is filled with 2 sesame balls - the one you have in desserts. It's recommended to eat it right away while it's still hot but if you don't want to, you can heat it back up in the microwave later. Owner and staff were really nice and patient. Received my drinks pretty quickly after ordering. Interior is simple yet aesthetic. Limited seats in front of the window. When you walk in, there's also a big tablet on the right where you can place an order. As mentioned before, it's their soft opening so it's important to be patient and understanding. Owner quoted that they'll start rolling out the rest of the drinks on the menu in a few weeks (2-3 weeks?). They're currently still recipe testing and trying to perfect their drinks. I will definitely be back to try their Grape Tea! 05.17.2023 | Wednesday @2:20pm

New drinks/snacks go to spot at ocean ave! Ordered two drinks and three different flavors wheels pies. The flavor of the drinks definitely over average, boba is perfect, based on we pretty much tried all the boba in the city lol. The wheel pies are definitely better eat it fresh made, but if you have it to go, it’s also good to reheat it in the microwave or air fryer. Super welcoming environment and wonderful staff. Easy to order and no long wait. Will come back soon!

A cute new drink/dessert shop on ocean. We came in on a saturday afternoon to try the wheel cakes. Inside is small, with the same set up as the previous boba shop. There are some kiosks to order from as well as from the register. They had a promo if you buy 2 items, the 3rd is free (must buy at register not the kiosks tho, also not sure if its still going on as of now). Love the novelty of wheel cakes since I havent seen any other places selling. Each one was being cooked to order. Even tho it was pretty busy, our 6 wheel cakes came out in ~15 min. Sesame was sold out but we got the custard, red bean, oreo/nutella. I actually really enjoyed the oreo/nutella one. There was a half oreo in the cake. My family liked the red bean one. The custard one was good too, just standard. We hope to come back to try the sesame flavor and their different drinks!

To echo another review, check in on the y app to get a BOGO offer for drinks. Because in person, their offer is buy 2 drinks get 1 free. For soft opening, the wait time is pretty bad. I think I waited nearly 30 minutes for my drinks and food but I can see that they are really trying to figure out a system that is efficient enough but also balance taking orders as well. I personally feel that the soft opening drinks are just ok. I’m a fruity girl and got the strawberry sago and the strawberry flavor didnt come through enough and was overpowered by sago. The black sesame is their speciality but I did not try it as my companion tried it but I do want to try their other fruity drinks when they open officially. The wheel cakes were really good. In store, the offer for the wheel cakes at the moment is buy 3 get 1 free. The inside of the shop smells like old oil so beware but the wheel cakes tasted so fresh and was worth the price but i am not sure if it is worth the long wait time. So long story short, the price of everything was really good. I wanna come back for other drinks and the wheel cakes are good and I will get it if there is no line.
