Avoid it! The buffet that used to be like $28 and much better and varied is now more expensive.
Cocktails are the worst, we had Piña Coladas that tasted like child's drink without rum. I complained, they told the inept bartender. While in other (much cheaper) places they rush to pour an extra shot of rum (this one tasted like nothing in it), they ignored my complain.
This Piña Colada didn't even come decorated with a pineapple slice (this place is part of a 4 star RESORT!) our came decorated only with a leaf of the pineapple plant, how absurd!
To add insult to the injury, these cocktails that were cheaper, now had a price tag of $12 EACH! For that garbage? At a 4⭐ hotel? At least do it good!
We then asked for the drinks menu card to confirm their claim that the prices rose a few months ago, they couldn't bring it because "we have not yet printed new menu cards".
Worst yet, they told us that others had complained and yet they have taken no action to correct?
Avoid Don Caimán like the plague (wouldn't even bother with their bar at the hotel). I have had GREAT Piña Coladas properly decorated for $4.50. this one isn't worth $3 at best

The food here was not bad. We paid for the meal plan at the resort. The Buffet style lunch was better than expected we really enjoyed the drinks and desert's. And as a bonus we actually saw a caiman in the water near our table with a couple of large turtles.
Great for a h
Sunday brunch. Need to improve, take if food is good, but service was ok, food not warm as required, they were not attentive. Place is excellent, had been other things taken care (even they can charge a 10$ morr) but give value for money.

Buffet was a surprise when we visited and it was great. The fish in white sauce was so good had it on both trips along with the eggplant. Nice view and had no problems being open air no bugs.
Have loved this place since i moved to panamá many years ago. Right now its only open on weekends and only offers a limited menu, but still worth it. Great food and awesome views with crocs, turtles and boats going through the canal you can watch while you eat.
We were hungry and they had a bufet. Not great value but ok, ebough options and the view on the swampy river is nice .

Service is up to standards and the river view is magnificent, be aware tough that as of the time of the posting the restaurant is closed on weekends.
The restaurant is part of the Gamboa Rainforest resort.
It has one of the rooms dedicated to old photos of the Panama Canal. Very interesting.

Beautiful setting, 10 minutes walk from the main hotel. Only open 12 to 3 and as they mainly cater for coach tours, it gets busy. Buffet only, but excellent. They did have a chef doing BBQ chicken and pork.
