We go to DiSorbos often for pastries, but did you know that they do wedding cakes there too?! It's called "Custom Cakes by Steve." They did our wedding cake and it turned out beautiful. We had a lantern theme since it was a fall wedding. He incorporated it into our cake. Check it out!
DiSorbos made the most beautiful, moist, delicious cake for our wedding yesterday! The pastries were also a big hit at our wedding! Thank you so much for delivering exactly what we envisioned! I highly recommend using DiSorbos for all of your bakery needs!
Best cookies ever! The woman behind the counter was so kind and friendly I would recommend this bakery to all my friends and family. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Excllent breads and exceptional pastries. Been around for quite some time and has been consistently great. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Disorbo's used to be on Grand avenue and out on dixwell. The Grand avenue shop closed years ago and it's now a wonderful Mexican restaurant. Thankfully the dixwell avenue bakery is doing great. it's hard to know what to rave about most because everything is so good. I'm looking forward to trying one of their cakes for our next birthday celebration. They're stuffed breads are simply amazing. On the weekend they add sausage to the stuffing (broccoli and sausage or spinach and sausage}. I think it's the best stuffed bread in New Haven.

They are a gem of yesteryear Italian bakeries everywhere that are sadly disappearing. It's worth a trip for their delicious Italian pastries and has on site parking.
I have ordered from this place a few times on hand. I always go for their stuffed breads. Well this past week (Wednesday to be exact). I ordered spinach stuffed bread and unfortunately I could not enjoy it because it was cold and way too much oil and the bread was OVER FILLED with spinach so much that my bread became soggy and wet. I had to toss it in the trash. Today I went to pick up some Angetti cookies. I asked them in advance can they go light on the icing and again I was disappointed because they put way too much icing on top. I also mentioned to them about my previous order of the stuff spinach bread. Their response was unbelievably unprofessional instead of a sorry, I got this, "Yea well we use a lot of oil". As if what I said was irrelevant or not an issue. As a customer I felt disrespected and disregarded. Moving forward this establishment will not be receiving any more of my business. Respect and customer satisfaction should be any business top priority. Where is the accountability for mistakes? Where is the empathy? Where is the customer's compensation?
Ordered a sheet cake, Italian Cream, it was fantastic!! Fresh, moist, cream filling was wonderful. Whipped cream frosting was great and tasty!! Lately the Italian cream cakes aren’t as good as before. Their cream filling is thick, tasteless and dry. Years past I always looked forward to a birthday just for my favorite Italian Cream Cake. Now that I found DiSorbo’s I will buy again!!
The first picture is what I asked for, the second picture is what I got. If I didn't have to provide a cake for this baby shower I would have left it there. I'm so upset and embarrassed to bring this to the party.

I had my wedding cake done here on 5/22/16 and I LOVED it! It was beautiful and delicious! I had a 3 tier red velvet cake with a nice design and everybody at the wedding complimented it. Steve was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend this bakery (they also make the best canoli cakes)
