Enjoyed the Sadza with beef take away.... nicely cooked! Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
I had the worst experience at Dickies was served a cold meal asked to have it warmed but it did not change. Part of our order had chicken, it was not well cooked, the waitresses were a bit unfriendly, they seemed to be in a hurry to serve us. Food: 3 Service: 2
PROS: - Portions were generous, we ordered traditional pap and rice based dishes. - Restaurant is located in quiet corner of town, not too hectic, no parking fees. - Most of the staff is pleasant and the owner is welcoming. CONS: - The meat dishes were not well prepared, particularly the lamb which was apparently just plain boiled and only lightly seasoned with salt. No sauces, chillies were served with the food. and they couldn't be provided even after requesting for them. Cutlery was inadequate for my 4 guests and I. - The young lady who waited on us had a bad attitude. There were way too many waitresses milling around while we dined. - For the prices, one expects a higher quality of food and service. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch
It was a lifetime experience for me, i loved it!!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Food is good. African cuisine. A must for visitors longing for a 'home cooked' meal flavour. Service needs to improve though. The floor seems be manned by an army of nervous interns who recite the menu sometimes mindlessly...two more stars if they can stop the revolving door and have experienced waiterons to serve.

Decided to have oxtail at Dickies and it was the worst mistake of my life. Someone I couldn't take the slow cooking in it as if it was rushed. There is alot of room for improvement especially when serving dishes like oxtail. Somehow I felt robbed of the experience and realised I would have done a better job at home. There is nothing traditional about food that has a weird taste. On the other hand I've had hearty meals at this restaurant hence I keep going back. It is the knowledge that they have excelled before that gives me hope that the flame I thought was dead may suddenly begin to burn.
The service was good and fast. The sadza and muriwo was nice but the roadrunner was abit dry and mostly bones. What really put me off was the cockroaches running around on tables and walls. It really put me off. So if u fussy abt hygiene avoid this place.
Good basic traditional dishes, although availability may be limited sometimes! Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
Food is exceptionally good, it has a touch of natural/traditional to it. Wish the place was bit spacious because it was too hot inside.
