So we have been back here multiple times and have not been disappointed. I finally got the nerve up to try one of the mystery breakfast burritos. I was a bit hesitant as I am kind of picky with what should or should not be in a breakfast burritos. Beans and salsa should remain on the side, not inside. In this case, I was pleasantly surprised. I got the $15 dollar level one. They come in varying prices the higher the price, the higher the quality of the ingredients. Let's just say it was absolutely delicious. I rarely can finish one of these monsters, but I could not stop eating it. It showed up with two poached eggs like a Benedict on top of the burrito, and I side was potatoes, bacon, sausage, and I think even a bit of corn beef. It was easily one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever had. I will definitely be coming back to try the higher priced ones. Our breakfast was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was pretty good; however, I do feel like the restaurant and rest room could use a little extra care in cleanliness. Interesting to see that the owner only thanks reviewers that give 5 stars but doesn't address constructive feedback. How is any restaurant able to improve if they don't take the time to acknowledge their customers concerns. I feel it is in good taste to be open to improving. Just a consideration. I was told of this amazing place by some patients of mine. They said it was a Bellingham staple. Took my wife there for our 1st time and it was an amazing experience. We ordered breakfast and at 1st it felt like any old diner but the food was anything but. With their house made salsas that added to the experience with our breakfast to the amazing staff that sure make you feel welcomed even as they are busy. I really hate to write a review as they are already busy and I'm sure they will get even more as word of mouth continues to grow but I can't help to say that if you are looking for a good place or even a new restaurant to try, give this gem a shot!! I went here a few months ago and it was good. Decent food and friendly staff. I heard the menu had changed, so we met some friends and went again. This experience will keep me coming back. The food tasted like real food, not just frozen, generic stuff you find at most breakfast joints. I had the ABTJ which was terrific and the house hot sauce was amazing. Friends tried a special Benedict and a Hash - both of which were also quite good. Not only was the food quality/taste improved, but the atmosphere was better. The first trip was fine, but the second time there was music and a fun vibe. We had the same server, but even she seemed happier to be there. We saw the great reviews and decided to stop and have breakfast here. We were seated and served coffee and hot chocolate. We waited well over 20 minutes for someone to take our order…. nobody came. We finally left after they attended a table of 8 right next to us. Shame on us for trying to give them the benefit of doubt that they would eventually come and take our order. Yes we left money on the table to cover our coffee and hot chocolate Service Dine in Price per person $1–10 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
(TIP: Off-street parking is best approached from Halleck toward Meridian. There are 5-6 spots in this one-way segment of street. Google Maps directed me this way but I'm not sure if it is always so "smart".) We had a great breakfast that Diamond Jim's. One special plus for us was that they offer veggie sausage as an alternative to the real thing. AND they offer hashbrowns (my fav) as well as cubed seasoned potatoes (hubby's fav), which they abbreviate on the menu as AFPs (American Fried Potatoes). We had a veggie benedict, both kinds of potatoes (of course), pancakes (blueberry & chocolate chip), eggs over medium (cooked perfectly), and veggie sausages. Coffee was unlimited, very good, and our server generously offered to refill our mugs several times. Service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant was warm, clean, and inviting. This was our first time coming in since Jim sold the restaurant. We were there about 1:00, expecting that we could order both breakfast and lunch like we often do. But the new owner took lunch off of the menu permanently, so our 16 yr old was extremely disappointed. The breakfast menu has changed quite a bit. Disappointments for us include: you can no longer get half orders on things like omelets, portion sizes were smaller especially on the biscuits and gravy, Hollandaise on the eggs Benny was extremely skimpy (maybe 1 tbsp per egg?), and prices have gone up on quite a few of the menu items. Paying $20.00 for a breakfast that is small is no bueno. Some positives include: the Cajun salmon Benny was good (other than the skimpy Hollandaise), the hashbrowns were cooked well - crispy, and the wonderful Cheryl still works there! She's always friendly, provides efficient service, and is just an all-around sweet person. Yes, things are bound to change with a new owner, but with all of the changes, this may not be our go to for breakfast anymore. We may give them one more try before we decide if it's a restaurant we want to come back to. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Was scared that good old Dimond Jim’s wouldn’t be as good with the new owner but let me tell you! It’s still fire!!! Sheryl is still here being sweet as ever. The food is fantastic. The new owner is a very kind dude. He gave me a bottle of their home made jam!!! Yeah the inside atmosphere is a lot different which I could see how some would be put off to this. But sometimes change is good. And this change is fantastic. I will continue to come here for the amazing smoked salmon eggs Benny and those bomb AFP’s! 10/10 I will be eating here again!!! This used to be my favorite breakfast place. Went there today and learned after that it is under new ownership. Prices jacked up and portions got smaller. My steak was cooked great, and hash browns were good when I finally got them correctly, but others in my group were not satisfied. There was a server that completely ignored me after I made eye contact, said excuse me, and waved at her to come help. Also overheard someone else that said they were ignored by her as well. Will not be coming back here and I recommend going somewhere else if you can. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

April 2023 - photo of menu If you love pancakes the size of one pancake is “plate-size!” I couldn’t finish the 1-1-1, one pancake, one sausage, one egg. The biscuits & gravy are delicious too! Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10
