I've lived in owensboro all my life....49 years, and have never been to Deloris'. I have missed put! I got the French toast plate. It was amazing! Great service...many refilled cups of coffee. The breakfast I ordered included coffee and it wasn't served, but other than that everything was really good! I had eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, and hash browns. My wife and I were going to Owensboro, KY. So, we thought we'd check out a local diner cafe. And we chose Deloris's Cafe, and we had breakfast. I had eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, and toast and hashbrowns. My wife had a similar dish only with ham. The bacon was thick and crisp and very good. eggs were cooked over medium, and they were absolutely perfect. The biscuit was light and flaky, very good. Toast was good. The one thing is, the gravy was kind of substandard, maybe out of a box. Disappointed in the gravy. Their server was very helpful. Very good food, came out quick, though they were very crowded. The place is old and dingy, but not dirty. It seems to be a local's favorite. Definitely a hot breakfast spot for locals. I love coming here for breakfast, putting my phone away, and just watching life and communication happen. It's unlike what we are used to in typical day to day.
