7@11, Gray Street, Knysna Central, Knysna. Delhi Darbar sells the most amazing curries. My husband had the meat curry with butter naan and I had their prawn curry with rice. Coming from Cape Town where there are lots of curries to chose from, their prawn curry is definitely top-class.. if it was possible to give 6 stars then I would have

Didn't have the best experience at this restaurant. The service was bad. The waiter wasn't friendly and rude and the food took way too long to arrive. The biryani was dry and flavorless. Ordered two types of chicken curries and two types of lamb curries but they all tasted exactly the same. but didn't taste bad just tastes like a good sweet sauce and nothing like Indian food. Stay away from the dhal and the rotti. The dhal is a watery mess and the roti is a thin tortilla that's not even warmed.
Really wanted to love this place. Had heard favorable reviews from locals, but to be honest I was quite disappointed. The food was decent and freshly prepared BUT the portions were actually tiny. 4 small prawns, a couple of pieces of lamb and chicken in the respective dishes meant we ordered a few extra dishes which pushed the bill up considerably. Even though we brought our own wine it was still an expensive evening for what we ate... We wanted to order 4 meals plus sides for Take aways at 3 minutes past six . The restaurant had only 1 table . The owner/ manager said "no take aways after 6 PM". They advertise restaurant and take aways. As locals who live around the corner it is a shame that Knysna does not have an Indian Take away. One wonders why so many restaurants fail in Knysna. We will definitely not try again. Service Take out Service: 1
Regrettably, my visit to this Indian restaurant was marred by incredibly poor service. The staff appeared disinterested and were outright rude, wearing long faces throughout. There was a noticeable absence of warmth or friendliness, leaving a lot to be desired in terms of customer care. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place due to its lack of basic service etiquette and unfriendly atmosphere. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person R 450–500 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
I keep coming back to this restaurant as there are no other curry restaurants in town - after a recent experience I will not be coming back. My husband and I ordered two portions of curry with two portions of garlic naan — the naan was cold and chewy, and tasted as though it had been resting on a dirty rag. It was completely inedible and I don’t even want to imagine how revolting that rag must’ve been after wiping hands, countertops etc. This could just be a one time thing and I hope it doesn’t occur often. But in terms of the quality of food, I was expecting the same quality as the Delhi Darbar’s in Joburg that I have eaten at and this food is positively revolting. How do we petition to open a Taste of Punjab restaurant?? Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person R 100–150 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The only restaurant serving Indian food in Knysna. The food was good. You will have to wait a bit longer for your food after placing the order. They usually don’t entertain guest without prior reservation as the sitting area is limited. We had dinner at Delhi Darbar last night. Warm welcome by the owner and great recommendations. To be honest, the Onion Bajee were the best we ever had and we also loved Chicken Tikka as starter. As main course we had Chicken Bhuna and Makhani Chicken, both perfect. Had a nice chat with the owner and he constantly asked if we like everything. A very good dinner and highly recommended. One remark, only beer is sold, if you like wine, bring your own bottle.
