Went to Davinci’s Bistro to celebrate a birthday. The food was spectacular. Let‘s start with the complimentary bread. It was very soft and fluffy, and came with olive oil and grated parmesan. My one complaint is that the bread was lukewarm. For free bread, it was overall one of the best breads I have ever tasted. We got arancini and calamari for appetizers and they were exceptional. The warm arancini was stuffed to the brim with cheese and rice and the calamari was crispy and had great flavor. We were already stuffed before we even got our main dishes. My cousins and I got the gnocchi lamb ragu, and all thought it was delicious. The gnocchi and lamb were the perfect texture and went well with the delicious red wine sauce. There were many leftovers from these meals. After we finished our meals, the workers all came out and sang happy birthday to my grandfather with us. The service was great and the vibe was unmatched. The dim lights, candles, music, made this place feel romantic. Restaurant was too dark. We sat down and started looking at the menus, the restaurant lights went even dimmer. I understand ambiance, but our was WAY to dark. The waiter took out his cell phone for the flashlight so we could read the menu. The food was good, although the pasta was a little too al dente. First time we tried we had no reservations, so we were told that it would be impossible to get in, well it sure is, a very small setting so reservation ahead is needed, but they do ask for your credicaed # to charge you in case of no show or cancel in time. I was very excitted to try it but unfortunately it was a completely deception and way overpriced. I order, The risoto mascarpone parmesan with seared shrimp. Good amout of risoto good presentation but no salt or flavor whatsoever. The rice super crunch what not even could happen in a regular rice. The shrimps taste as they came from the ocean nothing else. My husband order, The Chicken parmesan that comes with Rigatoni on a tomato sauce and plus a side of roasted potatoes. He found the 0chicken flavorless not even enough salt, roasted potatoes the same way. Kind of very hard to mess up roasted potatoes. Well the Rigatoni, at keast was average, coocked al dente, tomato sauce tasted okay. Unfortunately not even the bread before dinner was good either, again hard to find bad bread or mess up with it. Food was decent, the staff was attentive and the owner/chef introduced himself to each table after dinner. I gave the atmosphere a 5, but the clientele was a little too pretentious for my taste.
