Restaurant Tar Kuow has been in this town for over 60 years and never move its location since inception. The dining area is an open air type inside the restaurant, with only ceiling fans to cool you. Be prepared to have a good sauna eating experience, to me the dishes are worth it. Dishes are served to your table pretty fast, servings are pretty good portion and of course, tasty. The “ flat rice noodle or Hor Fun” has a unique acquired taste for people living in this town. To me, I love it … the hor fun is fried to a charcoal fire’s aroma, the thick gravy with toppings of fresh prawns, pig livers, choi sum vegetable, meat and squids.
Dishes not to be missed are the “ Or Bak – literally means Black Meat “, they are so tender it just melt in your mouth, deep fried lemon chicken marinated flavor is just indescribable. The Mustard Green Stew with deep fried fish fillets, it is awesome. Pricing is catered to small town people & is reasonable priced.
Around lunch time tables are pretty tough to get so try to reach there by 11:30am to 12 noon to secure a table. Enjoy !!

Just time waiting is a bit long.Normally need to wait 20~30 minutes or sometimes about an hour.
The cooling system also not good.Insufficient fans.
