What a wonderful little bar!! The service, food and drink were all fantastic. Our server was attentive but not overly so, the food was delicious and the drinks were absolutely phenomenal. I am a huge coconut fan and the coconut based drinks were heavenly. The ONLY critique I have is that I wish the edamame was cooked for a bit longer, as it was a bit hard and stringy, but overall still delicious. We will definitely be coming back! Visited for the first time and pleasantly surprised! Not sure what we were expecting but the variety of drinks were impressive and well made. We had the Kalua Loco Moco, poke nachos, and a couple kalua sliders and loved the food! The waitress was very welcoming and prompt. Will definitely recommend this to friends and will be back! My finance and I came here on Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful experience! We were greeted right away when we walked in. The waitress was friendly, kind, and prompt. Our food came out in a very timely manner and it was delicious. We got the Kalua sliders, Kalua pork loco moco, and edamame. Everything was fresh and reminded us of the food on the Big Island! We also got the Valentine’s specialty drinks which were tasty! Overall, great food and great service - we will be back soon! IF YOU HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS, DO NOT GO HERE. I'm disappointed with the lack of integrity this establishment has. I was invited to this restaurant by some friends. I was originally very excited to try a new local restaurant and for the karaoke. I'm vegetarian and had called ahead of time to check menu options. I was told they had edmame, veggie fried rice, nachos, and a wedge salad. At the restaurant, I opted for the nachos since that seemed (to me) easier to modify and prepare. When I ordered it, the waitress looked disapproving of my choice and recommended I get the rice instead. I went with her recommendation. When I received my food, I took a couple bites and realized that what I thought was diced carrot was actually spam (the lighting is incredibly dim). We let the waitress know, she apologized, and had a new bowl made for me. However, I felt nauseous and got a box to take the "new" batch home. The following day, I warmed it up, took a couple bites and realized, YET AGAIN, that it had spam in it. Do you not take dietary restrictions seriously? My guess is that they prepared the "new" veggie rice in the same pan as their spam fried rice or that they use a premade rice and attempted to pick out the spam. This is incredibly shameful! This all could've been avoided if they had been honest about their menu and abilities. I could've gotten a better meal and better service somewhere else. !!DIETARY RESTRICTIONS ARE NOT A JOKE!! Much Aloha in this place. Took the family and it felt like going out for some grub back home on the Big Island. The loco moco, poke bowl and musubi were all on point; not too fancy or over thought, just right. Drinks were tasty. The tiki theme throughout was a fun touch. Best of all, the service was like family, ohana, old friends, aunties/uncles, etc. Definitely lifted my spirits. Looking forward to kalbi Saturday! Much mahalos. Let me start off by saying I REALLY hope this place is able to stick around for a good long time. Tried a couple of the drinks and they were both delicious. Great balance of alcohol and mixers. Love me some Tiki glasses to jazz them up a bit too. Food came in a very timely manner and it was delicious. I love edamame and this did not disappoint. I will say it was about 30-45 seconds over cooked but the flavor made up for that 10 fold. The ahi nachos (sorry, can’t remember the actual menu name) were perfect. There was a piece of ahi for every chip. The chips were perfectly salted and just the right crisp. Perfect amount of drizzle to top them off. Delicious. My mind was extra blown by the most amazing pork I’ve had since my last visit to Hawaii 10+ years ago. I seriously asked where the pit was because people don’t know how to get that flavor and mouth feel on pork in a commercial kitchen. That pork was so flavorful it didn’t need any sauces or extras. I don’t know what kind of magic they’re working in that kitchen, but I can’t wait to go back and try more menu items…. And also get more pork sliders. Food and drinks aside, this place was going to get a review for the bathroom alone. No, it’s nothing fancy and doesn’t have any special decor, but they did have actual, nice, soft, not your average 1 ply toilet paper. They had the good stuff! don’t know about you, but when I’m drinking, I visit the bathroom more than usual. I HATE using standard commercial tp so this was pretty exciting. Did I mention they also had some great smelling Bath & Body Works soap in there. Thanks for not drying out my hands with standard commercial grade dispenser soap! Now if you’ve read this far you probably think I’m crazy. Maybe a little - but I like what I like and little things go a long way with me. I have to say though, chatting with the owner / server/ bartender a bit was the icing on the cake. She did a fantastic job of chatting with us and staying on top of all the other tables at the same time. I can’t wait to see what else she brings in for specials and what desserts she brings to the menu.
