Part of a large going away group. Had the sliced beef (Currasco Steak) with plantains. Very good. Considering how big our group was (25+) our food was still warm and prepared well. Price was reasonable too. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Sauce
Food came out extremely fast at lunch time. Our server was very fast taking our orders, but she still seemed very caring. I had the lechon asado. It was absolutely delicious! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Lechon Asado

We were thoroughly impressed with this cozy, family-run restaurant. My husband, my mother and I stopped to eat here on the way north to Atlanta. What impressed us over everything was the smiling and warm attitudes of the wait staff. My mother, who was celebrating her 85th birthday, could not stop talking about how pleasant the waitress was. Something was wrong with the cellular connection on her phone and the waitress happily allowed her to use their private Wi-Fi network. The owner as well chatted with us in Spanish, we couldn’t have asked for a more friendly host. The food was okay. Being Caribbean we love a lot of spices and flavor in our food but it seemed to be more tailored to American tastes. It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a restaurant that serves fried yuca and it went great with the house sauce. The meals were was satisfying, my husband loved the chuletas, and the hearty mug of café con leche was just about the best I’ve had outside of Cuba. It went perfectly with the plate of toasted and buttered Cuban bread they put on the table first, rather than breadsticks or nacho chips. I highly suggest purchasing a bottle of the house hot pepper, aptly called Francisco Sauce ($7 at the time of this review). There was a fairly large group of us when we came to Cuban island cafe. The staff did great at handling such a large group. We all enjoyed our food I had gotten the curry chicken and it was good. The plantains on the side were phenomenal. You're looking to try some Cuban food Cuban Island Cafe is a great place to check out.
