What an amazing little bakery run by the nicest people you will meet. These pastries are 100 percent Europe level and absolutely delicious--every single thing we tried was so good, but the almond bear claw, cinnamon buns and croissants were stand outs. Do yourself a favor and go here. We were visiting from north Georgia but would make the 2.5 hour drive just to come here. Thank you! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

So, this may be a long one... I have known both Dawn and Jonathon for several years. I have, so far, taken sustenance form nearly their entire arsenal of bakery goods... Simply, they are both gods of gluten. From Jonathon's sourdough (Honey Flax Seed is a current favorite), to Dawn's laminated pastries, morning buns, "mom tarts" the ethic, the intent, the evolution of what they make, for their customers to enjoy is some of the best that Western North Carolina has to offer. I am proud to call them my friends, even happier at their successes in creating amazing baked goods for friends and visitors alike. Simply theya re NO joke in the bakery game, and you will kick yourself for not buying extra every time you are there... *The photo is Jonathon's basic sourdough (my second favorite) toasted with my own Mr. Stripey tomato slice, my own pesto, Parmesan and mayo...

They offer fresh and absolutely crusty baked goods and a friendly service! I got a fresh morning bun (explained as cinnamon roll made with croissant dough) which I enjoyed so much with coffee.

High quality, delicious pastries and treats. We stopped in this morning for the first time, and it will not be the last! It was my mother's birthday, and the bear claw and morning bun were better than any birthday cake. Friendly owners, beautiful pastries, and definitely worth a visit. We'll be back for the pretzels next!
A wonderful experience each time we visit! We came in for a loaf of sandwich sourdough bread and we were absolutely delighted to discover so many extra treats. Chocolate croissants, salty pretzels, almond bear claws, and cinnamon rolls are my favorites! I highly recommend the honey flaxseed, sourdough, cinnamon raisin, and regular sourdough (they even slice the loaves of bread for the perfect slice for a sandwich!). I’ve enjoyed stopping by each week and visiting with the bakers/owners. They are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The greatest challenge of visiting The Crust Never Sleeps is deciding which of the delicious baked goods to take home!

We just visited Asheville for the weekend, and happened upon this gem of a bakery just down the road from our hotel. Don't let the nondescript exterior fool you, because the owners/Baker's are truly masters of their craft! There was a marvelous assortment of sweet and savory scones and viennoiserie, as well as pretzels and bread. I ordered the savory Danish and the almond bear claw, and my husband ordered the morning bun and the cherry cream cheese Danish. It was all spectacular! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. The customer service was excellent, and we will definitely be back the next time we are in Asheville! (And in case you need further convincing - I used to be a pastry chef before the lovely pandemic went and turned all our lives upside down. 🙃)
Amazing little bakery! Just tried for the 1st time this morning, We'll be back! Everything was delicious, fresh, and packaged w/care. Super, friendly lady working the front counter.
