There is no doubt that the premises are in need of some tender loving care. Hopefully the new management will take care of that. However the food was exceptional. The chicken livers starter was delicious and the 1 kg prawn special was finger licking good. The service too was excellent. We'll be back. Ok so it’s still early days for the new owners who appear to be steadily improving the look and feel of this once graceful beauty of the south coast. We had the prawn special. Wow hands down the best prawns anywhere that I have had. They arrived hot, almost too hot to handle. The presentation was excellent and the sauces were just right to complement the generous sized queen prawns. I asked for half rice half chips and it worked perfectly. Will we return? Try and stop us!! The atmosphere will improve as the new owners get their hands on the business and I expect this gem will regain its glory of fine dining and elegance it had in the fifties and sixties. Can’t help the loadshedding I get it. Prawns are tasteless, not seasoned. The yellow sauce. What even is that? Not garlic butter. Medium steak came raw and cold. Calamari for kids was deep fried and unseasoned. Hake and chips was good. Milkshakes we had was nice. As for atmosphere…. Music in the background. Place was empty, not lively at all. Which to some is a bonus. I won’t come here again. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Don’t let the outside of this restaurant fool you. Inside they serve such great seafood that my family often drive two hours, each way, just for lunch. Update: The quality of the food and the service has declined rapidly since the change in management. The venue is also looking a lot more shabby than it would be with minimum upkeep. Absolutely amazing place, the food was amazing and the service was great.. very friendly people.. if you love sea food and want to have a taste of the sea this is definitely the place..

The first time we went in 2020, everything was perfect, place was bustling, food was perfect. The second time, it was amazing (2021). The third time was the most disappointing experience of a night out on a holiday. Food took about 2 hours to arrive. The order was wrong, The seafood was not fresh, the calamari was overcooked and bland and stuck together. Waitress was friendly and the oysters were nice, but we won't ever go back.

If you look look past the fact that the restaurant has recently changed hands and the facility was previously neglected, you will experience friendly accommodating staff and have a great seafood experience. Great food, great atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner here. To quote her "this was the best seafood that I have ever eaten". I fully agree with her. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Great work guys.

Really nice food. Service was great and fast. We received our food within 15mins of ordering. Best seafood my wife has eaten. They made her birthday so special.
