[Dictated by Matilda, age 5] Crave Cafe, everybody, is the best. People have to come here. What do you think exists about Crave Cafe, everybody? I like the chicken Caesar wrap, the yogurt, and milk with cinnamon ["cappuccino"]. I like going there and seeing my friends like Miss Shatara. She deserves 10 gold stars. It's very nice everybody. I love it. I like the Christmas decorations they have. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've been a resident of Silver Spring for nearly 3 years and have been on the search for a great neighborhood coffee spot that has excellent coffee and an equally great ambiance. I used to enjoy going to Peet's up the street, but sadly it got replaced by Starbucks. I am soo, soo grateful and happy to have found Crave Cafe! It's a bit of a hidden Silver Spring jewel imho and addresses a lot of the things that I look for in a coffee spot. What I like about Crave: - Consistently friendly and welcoming staff - Awesome coffee and espresso drinks (their Americano and Lattes are some of my favs!) - Excellent ambiance with HUGE windows and great natural light - CLEANLINESS - they always seem to keep the tables wiped down and just seem on top of the overall neatness of the venue - An actual coffee shop vibe where people come to either work or hang out in small pairs or groups (as compared to another neighborhood coffee spot that is spilling with people and feels more like a cafeteria!). I LOVE this kind of coffee vibe space! - Free and strong wifi - FREE and plenty of parking in the strip mall parking lot in the back - A great drink and bites menu. I'll admit there are plenty of things on my "To Try" list but I do love all of the bites they offer on the menu and am looking forward to trying those in the near future :) All in all if you are a local or just visiting Silver Spring and are in the mood for a cup of joe, I hope you'll consider supporting this BIPOC woman-owned business. I hope Crave stays for a long time and continues to add value to the Spring Spring community. Service Dine in Meal type Other Price per person $1–10 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Newest coffee shop in south downtown silver spring where Bump n' Grind used to be. This review is based on my visit on their first day, so know that most businesses are still working out details on the first day. Atmosphere: they've done a good with the space, not major renovations from what it look like before. New color scheme and it looks like they will have the menus on TVs behind the counter. Everyone was wearing an uniform. I ordered two mochas and a banana nut muffin. The mochas were ok, the chocolate syrup was at the bottom of the cup, so the full flavor didn't come out until I got home and got to stir it. Muffin was fresh and delicious. Also, they're selling Bump n' Grind beans, so I'm assuming that's what they make their coffee with. Good to see local businesses supporting each other. I hope this business is successful and if you're local, go and support it Service Take out Meal type Breakfast Price per person $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Unfortunately, this place has turned into exactly what I was expecting it to eventually do. Worry less about the community and more about themselves. This used to be a decent coffee shop, but due to POOR MANAGEMENT, it has turned into space STRICTLY for the owners. The hours have changed drastically and every time I drive by in the afternoon or early evening, an event is being held. Crave, you have ROBBED the downtown silver spring area and you should be ashamed. Prior to Crave coming, we had Bump and Grind, and because of the pandemic, we lost that place. BnG was a COMMUNITY FIRST COFFEE SHOP. And now, they have been replaced with a group of people who could care less about the good people in Silver Spring. SHAME ON YOU CRAVE. SHAME ON YOU! Edit: I edited my rating because the managers are working on improving things! Crave is in my neighborhood. It replaced the beloved Bump ‘n Grind. I want to love it, I really do. But there’s some things that need adjusting. 1. The sandwiches are way too expensive ($13.59). 2. The outdoor umbrellas don’t have bases and keep flying away, so they can’t put the umbrellas out there for us to sit outside on a beautiful day. 3. A neighbor of mine mentioned that the doors are too heavy for someone with a disability to open, and there are no handicapped door controls. 4. Today, there is only one guy working, so the wait time is long. Crave is new and unfortunately opened in close timeframe to Starbucks down the street. I want to support local business, I really do! But Starbucks pulls on me harder because these things aren’t issues.

I recently moved here to silver spring and as a college student, I am always looking for cafe spots to grab coffee and study and this one is becoming a staple for me! The Iced Chai latte is by far the best chai that I have tasted from any of the various cafes i have been to. The atmosphere is very warm and quiet so it is a perfect study spot and the wifi works great. I appreciate the bountiful seating and the large windows that let inthe perfect amount of natural light. What I also love about this cafe that separates it from others is Shatara and Terry. I was welcomed with a warm smile from shatara and she engaged me with light conversation. SHe made me feel very at ease and invited into the space which gives Crave a personal, community feel. Overall 11/10, would HIGHLY recommend(: Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
You are honestly better off going anywhere else, even Dunkin Donuts. It's a good space. It should be occupied by some people who actually want to run a cafe, and who hire front end staff capable of that job. Service: 1
