On a hot day a great place for a beer or ice cream. The coffee and cookies I've cream was particularly delicious.
An American style cafe/bar does still seem slightly conspicuous in amongst the Lao eateries alongside but is worth a visit if you need a change of scene.

Ok. Let me start by saying we went to this as our second choice. I needed coffee badly and the place we usually go to was closed. What a good mistake!
The brownies here are AMAZING. The coffee was really big and good. Everything we tried I would absolutely get again.
Also, the person who took our order was really great. I accidentally gave her too much money and she made sure I got it all back. Super honest and kind person.

The food was a bit on the expensive side for this area and the American breakfast all a bit overcooked - may only be clear if you zoom in on the photos - as it looks better here than it was! But a decent portion though. I think probably the pancakes would be a better bet than the American breakfast. EDIT: The pancakes are huge - will definitely fill you up - but they only put the banana and chocolate filling in a small part of the pancake, so the rest is empty! They'd be better off giving you one pancake and filling it properly!
Be warned that if you don't speak English you should stick to ordering the set breakfasts only as the staff struggle even with their own menu.
The cappuccino and tea were fine.

Awesome Resteraunt and bar combined with a coffee shop. Specifically recommend the tuna steak and the ice cream.

Great little coffee shop/restaurant/bar. The food is Western and very good. It is not inexpensive but fair for the quality. It is also a nice place to hang out with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is pleasant and attentive (rather uncommon in Asia).
Great place great food staff are lovely coffee is spot on as are the cakes and they serve beer as well ,we'll worth a visit

The Cranky-T Café is an awesome place to enjoy great food and great spirits. The cafe is distinctly American, and reflects the owner's time spent in the states. The music is great and was a mix of R&B, rap, soul, and pop. The menu is in English, which helps as many of the patrons are expats from Australia, Europe, and the US. I ordered a grilled chicken teriyaki salad and it was enormous! The owner to me they are American sized portions. Well I can tell you, she isn't making it up! The chicken was tender and the dressing was out of this world. The following day I went back and had a grilled chicken panini, which again was absolutely delicious. Next door is a convenience store owned by the same savvy woman as is stocked full of great wines, spirits, and a diversified selection of goods from shampoo to cheese. If you find yourself in Phonsavan, these are absolutely the two places you should stop.
Kinda slow service, crepes not filled properly and they are kinda expensive (65k).
On the other hand the taste is way above average
