While driving through South San Francisco this morning I happen to glance at a sign….”Cocina Milonga Argentinian Empanadas”. I parked on the street and made my way into the store, I was greeted immediately with a a big smile by a gentleman behind the service area, I took a look at the menu on the wall and ordered four Empanadas. One Ham and Cheese with Black Forest Ham and Mozzarella Cheese, my second choice was the Chorizo Empanadas with Argentinian Style Chorizo, Provolone Cheese, served with Chimichurri, I also ordered the Fugazzeta filled with Roasted Onions, White Cheddar and Mozzarella Cheese Seasoned with Oregano, and my last choice had to be the Beef Empanada with Ground Beef, Onions Olives, Hard Boiled Egg and Raisins. I had to make room for one of their dessert pastries and ordered the Pastel de Manzana, puff pastry filled with an Apple and Coconut filling. The Mate Cocido had to be ordered to compliment my order from the Barista. I enjoyed the Baked Artisan empanadas (known as turn overs in English) and finished every morsel. During my conversation with the owner he mentioned that they also service the Chase Center at the Portal 30 Pepsi Club. The place was spotless and had a nice view from the window seats with a nice ambiance listening to Argentinian music facing the Alina way. The location is tuck away in the opposite corner across the street from See’s Candies.
