Good deli, but not a rival to better deli’s in NYC or LA. Corned beef sandwich robust, but not as much flavor as I’d like. Baked rye also made it fairly dry. Knish a poor imitation of genuine article and no kasha variety. Matzoh ball soup good but deserved 3 in the large bowl not 2. Really enjoyed Dr. Brown’s cherry soda. Cole slaw good, but with a touch more sweetness it would have been better. Elephant ear more dense cookie like than filo dough. Not a bad lunch but a bit disappointing if you’re into more traditional fare. Probably, however, the best Phoenix has to offer and with 4 locations. Chompie's is an amazing bakery and restaurant. Used to go all the time at PV Mall, my first time back since they moved. I love the new place! The food is every bit as good as ever and great service too. I highly recommend the Grandpa Ruby's Reuben sandwich! Quality, authentic food at reasonable prices. I ordered the full lean corn beef sandwich on Jewish Rye Bread. No condiments. A heaping portion of just delicious tasty meat. Fresh bread with quality, tasty meat. Simple but hard to beat. Came with potato salad that is good. The place is usually understaffed and the service could be slow especially at lunch. Our waiter was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was just handling too many table. Awesome food and I will be back. As a first timer i was impressed. The vibe and atmosphere as soon as you walk in is nice clean friendly open. Anthony, our server was charismatically pleasant and helpful.
