Absolutely awesome Green Chile. Food was spot on delicious , fresh, authentic, fast, and a tremendous value. Authentic Denver Mexican food with old school no frills friendly service, and family friendly atmosphere. Truly a North Metro gem.

Look I’m not gonna argue over the “best green chili” debate because this is Colorado and everyone’s gonna have an opinion (and don’t get me started on Colorado vs New Mexico). But this family-owned and made Mexican food is GREAT, and economical. Chico has said he doesn’t want to raise his prices because people know they can get a great meal for not too much money, which is huge these days. I always get the enchilada plate with a mix of hot/mild chili (the hot is HOT). Cash only, but there’s an ATM inside. Ever since moving back to CO from living in Southern CA I've struggled finding decent (much less good) Mexican food. Maybe I'm too picky now?! Chico's however was a pleasant surprise. The menu is a bit tamed down to appease the non-Hispanic population but the green chili still packed a respectable punch of tangy, mouthwatering flavor. The Goofy taco is much try..... don't worry... no Disney characters were harmed in its making. Hard to find better green chilli! menu is simple and prices have not gone up much in the 25 years I been eating here. For under $20 we both get a smothered bean beef burrito and put a bean tostada with sour cream on top and have never been let down. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Came here because I was in the area visiting a friend. I didn't know what to expect, but the idea of a hole-in-the-wall Mexican joint seemed perfect. My hopes were soon dashed. The lady behind the counter was nice enough and when I asked if the food was good there her response indicated she seemed to believe longevity equaled quality. She was very proud of the fact that the restaurant has been there since 1989. I didn't want to argue with her logical fallacy, so kept it to myself. One thing the lady behind the counter did that annoyed me to no end was she ignored my female companion and spoke almost exclusively to me. I ordered a delux burrito plate and she asked me if I wanted it hot, medium or mild. My friend ordered a handful of tacos of various styles as well as a serving of chips and salsa. The food took far longer to make than I would have expected - especially considering we were there at an off hour with no one else waiting. When the food arrived it was neatly packed to go, just as we ordered. We drove back to my friend's place and ate: The food was ... meh. I mean, it wasn't anything to write home about and I don't know if I'd ever stop by again if I were in the area. Especially annoying to me was the smothered green chili on my burrito. I wish, at any point, "smothered" was listed under the description. My friend said the salsa tasted like ketchup with spices. I took a single bite of it and will never stick that in my mouth again if the Universe is kind to me. All-in-all, the experience was bleh.

Family owned and operated since the 80s, this place has stood the rest of time. I personally like to get the food to go and enjoy at home. The green chili is great and the hot has some kick. It is cash only!! For burritos I would only recommend beef (and bean). There's no carnitas and chicken is only a taco approach here. The beef burritos are great though. Made from scratch green chili is worth the visit at least once. Try the Chile Verde half and half for the balanced approach Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Salsa
I’ve lived in Broomfield 45 years and had never tried Chicos. Family of 5 decided to give it a try last night, Friday around 5:45. Menu is very brief so called and had a few questions. The man who answered the phone was very rude and seemed bothered that I had a question about the menu. Asked me if I needed more time? Then he put me on hold. My family told me to hang up because of the way he spoke to me…live right across Lowell from the place and eat out 2-3 times a week but I don’t think we will try because of the way I was treated. Do better! Service Take out Meal type Dinner Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I've been eating there since it opened in the 1980s. I lived in the neighborhood at the time. I live about 20 miles from there now but still make the drive a couple of times a year just to get my fix of the delicious green chili. I get a spare tub of the chili to save for later. Richard and Shirley, the owners, are friendly. Meal type Dinner Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Egg & Potato
