Looked this place up on a whim and saw it had 4.5 stars. So I thought....."let's stop by to get something for the road." Am I ever happy that I did.... The sesame chicken beats the pants off of most Chinese places. A 5 minute wait tops for great food. House made sauces. Owner has great character! I'll definitely be back! I hate to leave 1 stars for a local business but the food here was awful. Egg rolls had nothing but cabbage I ordered the shrimp and beefs, wonton soups had no flavor tasted like water and slice ham, the chicken Mongolian was nothing but green onions barley any sauce it was extremely dry. I was so looking forward into this restaurant but went to sleep hungry the food is not good. Small selection but good basic Chinese food for a quick pitstop in the area. Great value and large portions and yummy too. This place is owned by a couple, and they’re really nice and friendly people. They have an outside seating area for people to eat. Make sure to say hi to their 4-legged senior citizen who’s a rescue :) Highly recommend a visit. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20

Charlie Chen's food is consistently great in my book. I've ate here four or five times when I'm coming through Dubois and I'm never disappointed. He has one of the best egg rolls you will find anywhere in PA. I like them so much I grab a frozen 10 pack to take home with me. If you really want to push your limits...ask Charlie for his homemade hot mustard sauce....dunk that Egg Roll in it and watch your eyes blow out of your head! It's not for the weak I assure you. Charlie you get five stars All Day ~ Every Day

This place according to reviews was supposed to be excellent. Well the owners are some of the nicest people I've ever met. That's where it stops. The General Tsos Chicken was awful! It looked like chicken nuggets tossed in some runny sauce and broccoli! Charlie Chen’s makes the highest quality of food!! I had Lemon Shrimp tonight. It was the most delicious that I have ever eaten!! His lemon sauce was amazing!! The Sesame Chicken was amazing! Gotta make Charlie Chen's a stop if you're passing by. Great outdoor seating too. Our little munchkin loved the broccoli and getting to meet the owner who came by to say hi! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

I am guessing that the consumers in Dubo's,Pennsylvania haven't been exposed to modern Chinese food. But I could be wrong. This dish reminded me of the 1970's. Very cheap sauce loded with sodium. The fried rice was white rice coverd with soy sauce not fried at all. Cucumbers in my dish? Very mushie. The chicken tasted like chicken skin marinated in Mono Sodium Glutamate. Do yourself a favor and keep on driving past this place. Baby corn from a metal can? Maybe I should have ordered la Choy Chop Suey out of a metal can.

Charlie Chen's is a go to place for Chinese food. The crab wantons, orange chicken, and Beef with green pepper are our favorites. The service is friendly and personal. We have only had the best experience ever time we go. I highly encourage you to stop in at Charlie Chen's Chinese Kitchen.
