First time ever at Charlie brown steak house! I Ordered the ribs and my girl Ordered the skirt steak. Both got salad bar. Salad bar was really good, potato salad was fantastic! Ribs were delicious and so was her steak! Service was top notch and the price was very reasonable. The pub used to be my go to but it went down hill since covid! I think this is going to be my new go too! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Salad

We went to the same location before with the other owners and didn't like it, so we decided to try it again and glad we did. The salad bar was very nice and the steaks were cooked just right. See my video and picture. Full bar, restrooms, tight space so wouldn't recommend for those in a wheelchair. Enjoy! Wow! Scratch that off my bucket list! Growing up near the Jersey shore, CHARLIE BROWN was a staple in our community. Over the years, the restaurant chain all but disappeared from towns all over the state due to bankruptcy. As of the writing of this review, only two remain. My girlfriend and I, for the past few years, have been searching for a restaurant that includes a salad bar. And we sadly discovered that this is a thing that no longer exists. Another thing that no longer exists is buffets which Covid all but killed. So, we wanted to have dinner at a restaurant that had a quality salad bar. We found one of the last Charlie Brown restaurants on the map and decided to drive 1.5 hours from Spring Lake to Woodbury in hopes of reliving the Charlie Brown dining experience we enjoyed in our youth. Upon entering the restaurant, my girlfriend remarked how similar the decor was to what she remembered. The restaurant was very cute with a library-themed dining room and an adjoining bar. We arrived just after 3 p.m. for an early dinner, the place was fairly empty, and we were seated immediately. Our server was very nice and patient as we took our time looking over the menu. My girlfriend and I decided on Prime Rib. She had the smallest cut and I had the largest. The meal came with soup or salad bar plus one side. We opted, of course, for the salad bar. We both chose a baked potato as a side. The salad bar was the highlight of this visit. It's quite large and filled with every possible item you could hope for. From leafy lettuce to crunchy vegetables, pasta, and potato salad. It would be impossible not to pile your plate high with just about everything included here as we did, and as we watched others do as well. Everything is very fresh. Additionally, the staff did an incredible job of maintaining/refilling the salad bar after every crowded pass-through. It was amazing to see how much effort the restaurant put into providing an exceptional salad bar experience. Our Prime Rib dinner was exceptional. The meat was cooked perfectly (we went with medium). It was served with a cup of au Jus, allowing you to dip each piece of meat into the sauce. The baked potato was perfect! It came with a generous portion of butter and sour cream. We took some bacon bits from the salad bar and incorporated them into it. I have to say, this was one of the most enjoyable meals I have had in a long time. Everything was perfect from the service to the ambience to the food. If this restaurant were in my town, I would be eating here weekly. It's a real crime that this chain is almost completely extinct. And the price? Not bad. For two Prime Rib dinners with a salad bar and two cokes, the total came to $70 for two people (before tip). At $35 each for all that food, it's not a bad price given this inflated market. This was well worth the drive. Not sure I would do it again in order to return, but I think we'll plan more outings in this area just to give us an excuse to visit again. Was really good overall! I didn’t get any of the main meat rib dinner options but food was really good overall. Got three appetizers, Pierogi, Loaded Tater Tots, and Pretzels. Really good. I got the golden fried shrimp with fries which was really good. Though I recommend any main land meat meal such as rib or something along the lines of that. Otherwise great for a good time! I honestly didn't know that Charlie brown's still existed. I have not seen one in years. This one is tucked away, and slow down so you don't miss it. It has a super cool library looking atmosphere inside. Our server was very nice and friendly. Delicious and fresh salad bar. My wife and i both got prime rib. Cooked perfectly. If it was closer to my home, i would definitely make this a regular stop. Service Dine in Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Queen Cut Prime Rib Dinner

Excellent dinner of perfectly cooked rare prime rib and outstanding filet mignon medium rare. Appetizer of cheese curds, french onion soup and fully packed salad bar were exactly as they should be. Great service by Allison/Ally made the experience even better. Historical building makes for a great steakhouse setting and library room is perfect for book lovers. Can't wait to return. It was our first time trying this restaurant, and now we are in regret that we never tried the one in Maple Shade when they were there. First off, I want to give Alison a HUGE shout out because she is hands down the best waitress! She was so friendly, honest, attentive, and all-around fun. I so felt like we could be good friends. The food was delicious and was served fast. The only issue was that the Crock Of French Onion Soup was definitely too salty. A shame because my sister and I try them every restaurant we go that serves it. We took 2 sips, and it was a no-go. I feel we got there right before the Friday night rush, and that was great. The salad bar was one of the best I've tried. We didn't get desserts, but we definitely will next time we visit. Tonight was a bustling eve for Charlie Browns . Yet even with the hustle, the service was prompt and efficient. I was greeted immediately and with a smiling face. I was walked briskly past the clinking of glasses and chattering of patrons to my well-kept table. The atmosphere was mid upscale . A cross between sports bar and library gone steak house. The server was Maureen. A friendly and upbeat waitress with a quiet demeanor despite the chaos around her. She knew well what she was doing, and her experience showed. I asked for one of two selections. The meatloaf for the main was victorious out of the battle of choices and the firecracker shrimp to start equally a winner. The salad bar that accompanied my main meal was rich, fresh, and full of choices. I grabbed a bit of too much of everything, as I'm pretty sure everyone does. The prices are fair. Nothing too expensive at a gathering place like this. 50 a person for starters and a mid priced entree will do you well. As I waited for my starter of shrimp and chilies, the wait staff efficiently cleaned tables and made good work of general upkeep. The appetizer was sizable! The flavors were well combined, and the shrimp was not overcooked. Maureen (the waitress) was not a hawk at the table but rather the breath of fresh air one needs to have when having a multi course meal. At last, the coupe de grace . The meatloaf came piping hot. Moist to the bite but not overly sopping. The garlic mashed potatoes it was paired with were a delight, and the addition of the fried onion curls finished the dish wonderfully. In closing, I would heavily recommend this lovely resteraunt to any sole dinner or multifamily gathering. Charlie Brown really kicked the football out of the park here. Haven't been to a Charlie Brown's in a few years, as there aren't many left, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. Even though they were pretty busy, my party of three was seated immediately, with no wait. Our server was personable and attentive. The food was delivered promptly and was delicious. The salad bar was fresh and fully stocked. The restaurant itself was very quaint and cozy, like you were in your grandma's house. Highly recommend! We have not been here for years. The best I can say is that all of the good things I remember about it are still there. They also have some new menu items. We ordered the cheese curds and pierogie for an appetizer. Both were great. I also ordered French onion soup which was ok. It wasn’t bad but I wasn’t a huge fan of the cheese they used. I ordered chicken fingers for my entree and they were great. The one thing I like about them is that they are huge pieces of white meat chicken, not stringy tenders. The service was really good and the restaurant was clean. One complaint that I have is that it is in an old house so it’s really hard to navigate with my cane. There are small steps everywhere. They do have bars on the wall to hold on to when you are stepping up and down but it is really challenging. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+
