Among other Chinese cuisune places to eat at, this restaurant can be one of the greatest. You will enjoy its food, particularly good chicken, crab rangoon and lo mein. Chang Jiang is good for people who have supper on the go as they can order dishes as a takeout. The positive aspect of this place is that the staff is cute. Nice service is something guests appreciate here. You may be impressed with fair prices at this spot. But this restaurant has been rated below average by Google.

I used to like the food here. I'm not sure what happened. The food quality has gone down. On top of that, the wait is a lot longer than it used to be and the predicted pick-up times are way off. If they are busy and I need to wait longer for food, that's fine but I don't want to wait there. I'd rather wait at home and it be ready when I get there. I'm also willing to wait longer if the food tastes fine. This has happened at least twice, so I think I'll stop going. The worst Chinese food I have had. They forgot to include the sauce for my sweet and sour chicken, the hot & spicy pork had no spice and the sauce had a weird gritty texture, the grilled potstickers were bland, and the beef lo mien was super dry, bland, and smelled vaguely of fish - I took one bite and threw it away. The food is very good. My service has been pleasant and expedient. I am giving 3 stars because they often skimp on meat portions, particularly shrimp and crab Rangoon filling. Also because they have some stiff competition. Sizzling Hut up the street has even more delicious and authentic food. Sizzling Hut is also very expedient as well. I've been going here for 20+ years, through several owners. I have only had a couple bad dishes over the years, and they are happy to replace things that were wrong. They often give extra items when you put in a large order. I like them much better than the other place in town, especially the fried rice and eggrolls. I typically order chicken fried rice with extra chicken to have a good base between all restaurants. This rice was great! It was not overly buttery which is a quick way to make it tasty but not very healthy. I had Pieces of chicken fat in with the rice which I can respect because it has that buttery feel and also adds flavor. The egg roll I ordered was good too. I wish there was a Chinese buffet out here but the population is small so it has potential to be a waste of food and money so I get that.

Overall I love the food. It's the best Chinese around. However the service is sketchy at best. When i go in to order i get exactly what I order. No problems, no questions. However when my boyfriend goes and orders the order is always wrong. Wrong size, over charged, wrong item, something. Tonight he ordered steamed broccoli and a large sauce. This would normally cost me about $8. He was charged $14, & didn't even get a large sauce. He won't call and complain because he likes the food, & doesn't want there to be issues in the future. Not happy with the customer service at all.

We have eaten here on several occasions now and I finally feel it's appropriate to write a review. The chicken fried rice is somewhat bland, the chicken is chewy and fatty, the crab rangoon had only a little bit of filling (it was mainly doe and air), and the general tso was not spicy at all. Sadly we won't be ordering from them anymore, sadly because it is the last Chinese restaurant we are willing to eat at in Deforest. (the other one in town my wife and I got food poisoning from a while back)
