Looks like a nothing place but food is really nice. It's a small low key family vibe restaurant. Octopus was tasty! Come earlier rather than later because service can be slow if everyone arrives at once. There was a full house after we arrived and the poor waitress struggled as cooking took a while to get out. So please bear in mind.

A hidden gem in Paje! On our search for the best seafood in Paje we stumbled upon many reviews on this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We reached around 2PM on Friday, however the place was empty. We were confused if we stay or leave, and I’m so happy we decided to stay! They didn’t have any more lobster so we ordered the grilled octopus and grilled calamari and OH MY! They were amazing! That octopus is life! So so good, the sauce that comes on the side is amazing and the mashed potatoes are soo flavorful. Absolutely loved it!

Best food in Zanzibar!
From the outside, not a flashy and attractive place, but it is a true hidden gem, as another comment said.
After many restaurants all over Zanzibar in the 7 days we've been here so far, this one takes the prize.
According to the menu, it's not a huge selection, but whatever you need additionally, just ask for it. There is no salad in the menu, but they will prepare a great salad to accompany your main course.
We had grilled calamari and grilled tuna and both of us were amazed by the quality. Some of the best tuna I've had in my life!
Service is very nice and they can make great recommendations.
At first we were hesitating to go in, as the neighbourhood is not elite, but now I want to eat there every day.

Tasty food for really cheap price! I love the tuna tartare it was heaven in mouth and it was from real african family…so nice to support here small business with true aftican vibes👌🏻 we also tried soup which was really good and although we waited for like 30 mins for the food it was worth it! And we will definitelly come back🤩

Cannot recommend this family owned restaurant enough! The food is exceptional and it is prepared just by two ladies in the kitchen. We tried tuna, octopus (the best), prawns and veggie pasta and were all just amazing! Forgot to take pics of the food as it was too good not to dig in right away

Chamu is a lovely little restaurant that we have eaten at a couple of times and will probably return again before our holiday ends. Both times we have been served by a lovely lady who is warm and welcoming. The food is amazing and portions sizes huge! They even managed to cook us an amazing meal through a power cut.

One of the best Restaurants in Paje. Amazing food with amazing Service. We do not understand why it is empty sometimes. The food is prepared fresh so it takes a bit time but is totally worth the wait. Everytime we are here the service is amazing. Dont miss out on this one and support this local Business!!

We found this little gem one night passing by in Paje and fell in love with the food. The kings prawns were delicious and the tuna even if not raw (as ordered) was still great. The sides are yummy and portions generous.
We liked it so much that 2 days later went back for lunch on our way to the north part of the island. This time we chose octopus, which was cooked to perfection, and calamari which didn’t fell behind.
Definitely worth a visit to enjoy the amazing food!
