The chef at this restaurant cooks good butternut ravioli, French onion soup and fried prawns. That's a nice idea to order nicely cooked blueberry pancakes, cinnamon rolls and pudding. At Century House, you can order a takeout. Delicious beer, marsala or michelada are the most popular drinks of this place. You will be offered great coffee, tea or juice. The attentive staff at this spot can demonstrate how much they like their customers. The spectacular service is something these restaurateurs care about. We had a very nice lunch in the bar area. Salmon over Greek salad was excellent. One of our party had the prime rib. Perfectly cooked ...medium rare. Another had the ravioli.. very tasty. Finally one had just a Cesar salad with a side of onion rings and yet it became a memorable meal. The rings were excellent. This place is wonderful. Great drinks, old-school atmosphere, and a menu with something for everyone. I'm proud to be a regular. Having said that, about six months ago I was extremely disappointed by a $30 seafood casserole with just a few small shrimp and scallops and a dry lobster claw. The following week I was disappointed by a baked haddock dinner with fish whose texture indicated it had been frozen. Those willing to pay $25-30 for a seafood entree at lunch expect a healthy portion of plump, moist, and fresh seafood. For a frozen and/or skimpy portion, $15 or less is a more appropriate price point. Both types of presentation have their fans, but they should not be confused. The prime rib is always good, in fact is probably the best anywhere. Occasionally, though, there is less meat than there is fat and bone. Each slice should be eyeballed before it comes out, and sometimes maybe adding a second slice is warranted. It's disconcerting to get an inferior slice while the person next to you got a much better portion. New prime rib cut?! What the hell is this. No manager to even come out and say something? Shame on you. The bartenders should NEVER have to comp stuff because the manager isn’t competent enough to come out and say something. We come every week, EVERY SINGLE WEEK. This is pathetic. From one restaurant owner to another; do better. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
I am a single guy and find the individual prepared meals to be the best I've ever found. They are well rounded, veggie, potato and main course. Staff, can't say enough just wonderful and look forward to seeing them weekly and online ordering makes this so simple. Overall the food was pretty good. I do recommend the giant pretzel appetizer (so good) but it's huge so not for just 1 person but the prime rib was the worst prime rib me & my family ever had which is why the 4 stars not 5. I have heard that it has been great there so it could've just been an off night which happens. It's expensive so just be wise of what you order. Suzanne the waitress was the best waitress we've ever had, what a sweetheart! The atmosphere was a bit loud though it is a big place just not if you're really tall, low ceilings. They pack in quick on the weekends especially. A reservation would probably be your best bet. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

My closest family & myself have been going out to eat in Peabody at The Century House located on route 114 westbound almost right on the Danvers / Peabody line. It's somewhat more of an upscale type of dining environment which also has a nice old fashioned cozy feel to the large dining room area. The food is moderately priced, but I think extremely low especially for how good the quality of food and service always has been. On different days of the week they have various lunch & entree menus with excellent select types of deals. They also have a pretty large 2 section bar where food & appetizers are also plentiful. If you like Keno or other forms of ticket games they definitely do have lots to choose from. I 100% recommend either for a nice dinner date with the family for lunch or a nice prime rib dinner or just to grab a quick bite & have a few drinks at the nice bar. I ordered take out and must say we were all pleasantly surprised and delighted. Haddock dinner- scale of 1-10- solid 9- the BLT- scale of 1-10 -9- The onion rings and fries - perfectly cooked. Pecan Rolls- moist and delicious. Food: 5
Not the most stellar performance today at the Century House. I have been here multiple times over the years. Yes, the food was decent. My biggest gripes with the place is that they do not offer the cheese and crackers on the dining room side or the pecan rolls on the tavern side. If the customer wants, the customer should get… within reason. Sure you might have to charge, but “no” should be avoided if at all possible. Our meals had some minor issues, but the waiter took so long bring what we got, we were afraid we’d be there until midnight or something if we wanted something replaced. Also, what is with cleaning up while people are still eating. Basic etiquette says you wait until ALL diners are the table are done before asking about dessert or bringing the check. On top of that we were seated next to a table of people that thought everyone in the restaurant wanted to hear what they were talking about… no they didn’t.
