This place has great food. I usually order pizza, pasta or a steak here but this time I was with a good local friend. So we both had Sokoro, which is made from pounded yams. We had ours with peanut sauce and chicken but could have ordered with beef or fish as well. One of the things I enjoy about here is they don't skimp on the drink sizes, for example a large Coke was only 450F. I will definitely come eat here again.
There were several problems with our dinner here - would not recommend.
1. The fresh pineapple juice tasted like soap - either the tools used to juice it were not cleaned properly, or the pineapple was not prepared properly.
2. The pizza was not cooked through - only the bottom 1mm of the pizza was cooked, but 1cm of the dough in the middle was still wet and chewy and looked/tasted like barely toasted raw dough. We sent it back and asked it to be cooked more, only to have it returned after 5 min with barely a difference. When we asked again, we were refused and told that it was cooked thoroughly already.
3. We ordered beef with the igname, but the beef never came.
I'm wondering about the poor reviews... Maybe the quality here is inconsistent, but I have only good things to say about this place. Unpretentious as it is, the food is very good. I've had the basic vegetarian fou fou sauce arachide, and it was perfect. Maybe even the best meal I've had all over Benin and Togo.
Portions are very big, can be shared between two people.
Meilleur restaurant de Kara définitivement ! Les prix sont accessibles, la carte très variée sans pour autant que cela n'empêche la qualité. Le chef s'est déplacé pour nous donner des informations.
Agréable matin midi comme le soir.
