I love this store. We visit Borrego Springs often and are desert campers, and it always seems we either forget something or just want something when we are out for the weekend. This place has it all and everything is always great quality.
Generally, expect to pay higher prices than you're used to. Management is able to keep prices significantly higher throughout the year because they're able to make their profits from snowbirds.
They're open till 8:00 p.m. which is actually a credit to the community because apart from the gas stations, there won't be anywhere else to purchase alcohol or groceries at 7:30 pm. Fortunately the restaurants in town offer some decent food and that hooch if you're looking for it.
The employees themselves are this store's real redeeming quality, they're friendly, accommodating, and extremely helpful. Plus they're locals, so if you have any questions about the area they'll be happy to share their thoughts.
A lot of love for this quirky little market! They really know their customers and what they want to buy. They will have pretty much whatever you need to make a weekend in Borrego work.
It's been around for a long time but I'm old enough to remember when the store was was across from Carlees, so Center Market will always be the "new" store to me.
This little market is my 'Go to' when I'm camping near Borrego. Well stocked,.they have pretty much everything I ever need and usually good prices. They have a meat counter, a produce section, all the necessary products. Staff is friendly also.
Very nice market for the area. They have a good juice bar and OK salad bar. Produce is good too. I took off one star for very average customer service, plus a little pricey. Selections are usually very good.
