I used to love their cheese cake, it was so soft and moist. After moving away for so many years and finally came back for it and it was so disappointing. The cheesecake was kind of hard on the top and the inside tastes dense and not moist. The Cathy’s bakery in Arcadia isn’t good either. Price per person $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

first time to try this family-own bakery and i was not disappointed. tried one of their specialties Taro cake. and oh my me, i cannot. IT WAS SO GOOD! there are chunks of real taro and the flavor is so subtle, it was perfect. and the sponge?! what sponge, it was cloud. need i say more? the entire profile is very nostalgic, reminds me of the traditional bakeries in Hong Kong. nothing too overly sweet. their other specialty is the crispy cake. which is on my list to will try next!
Ordered the taro, pudding spong cake with crispy pastry layers. The spring cake was moist and fluffy. Taro paste was smooth. Pudding was light and soft. Also it fits the Asian definition of good deserts: not very sweet!😁
We used to customize our cake here all the time for birthdays. But the cake today is missing the pastry layer, and pudding just didn’t taste fresh (too thick?) and sponge cake was too dense 🥲 but the past 10 years it’s been our favorite Asian cake in LA! I would still give it another chance.
