This is a restaurant as well as a bar with food served upstairs. No fixed menu so agree a price when you order. Classic Caribbean fare, chicken or fish with rice & peas, veg/salad. Fish was freshly cooked and well seasoned but veg, rice & peas could have been hotter. Bar owner brought us out a table and chairs to watch the bonfire he does every Thursday. Nice to be right smack on the beach and you are able to hear and feel the waves. Nice shack restaurant on level above ground. I ordered bbq chicken and prawn combo. 2 glasses of rose from their bar downstairs. You don’t have much of a choice for wine. They only had 1 bottle and I got them to chill it an hour ahead. Good service. Food didn’t blow my mind. The chicken was a bit hard and stiff but the rest of the ingredients ie. Prawns, beans, veg and potatoes were good. It cost TT290 (USD45) which is a bit steep for this spot. It was much more reasonably priced and nicer spot at Caribbean Kitchen at Castara Retreat hotel. Ate here during our month stay & the food is absolutely amazing. We were able to catch the sunset which made it even better. You can also buy fresh fish here as the local fishermen come in from the ocean. Also a great beach to bathe on after your dinner. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Great food on the Thursday bonfire night. Right on the beach. We also had a steel band playing after dinner. Like everywhere in Castara the food is really fresh and tasty with herbs and spices perfectly balanced Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Good food, nice location. Waitress seemed bothered to help us. Loud music playing. All would have been acceptable until the bill came. I think I got charged the foreigner tax. Was charged about 3x what we've paid at other local similar establishments. Would not recommend. My wife and I had lunch here with our son today. She had the turkey stew and I have the Curry shrimp. The price was a bit high but due to the location that's not really surprising. The meal was absolutely marvellous and kudos to the chef for such a delightful meal. We will be back!!

Great dinner spot sat right on Castara Beach, with a bar underneath and views right along. When we went the options were chicken or fish - the chicken was fantastic! On Thursdays, there's a big bonfire night on the beach, with a steel band playing and all the locals come along - it was an amazing night, and great to be able to crash/join in the local party - rather than it be put on especially for the tourists!

Love this bar! Andy, the owner, is a fantastic barman and host. They usually have football matches on and there is a pool table. It’s a locals hangout but tourists are more than welcome. The restaurant is delicious but beware that they cook for one table at a time. Do not expect to be rushed in and out but you shouldn’t expect that anywhere around here. If you do, you’re probably on the wrong island/vacation. Thursday bonfires are a staple and people come from all over the island to attend. 5 stars!

Food was okay, but the waiters seemed to hate us with sighs and angry looks when asking for our drinks. Then next door there's a bar playing music so loud you can't hear each other speak. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
