We found Carolina Wine Merchants by chance at their former location and had a wonderful time (and fell in love with a wine that we now order from Jake by the case). When they moved downtown we were so excited to check out their new location and it did not disappoint. Joy lived up to her name and we're looking forward to making the Wine Bar part of a regular date night. (Getting to catch up with Jake as well was fabulous.) Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've known Carolina Wine Merchant and its owner Jake for around four years now. In that time I've seen a hundred + people of all types walk into the shop. He treats every person with respect when they walk in the door. His selection is unparalleled in the area, and he has decades of experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves fine old world wine.

Went for a wine tasting last Saturday.. sampled 10 wines. It was great! I am from Chicago and it was nice to find a local, small business that has an excellent selection of wine! Looking forward to going back soon.
