This is a lively place with awesome service and food! Brandy our server was professional, checked on us often and had a bright smile. Trey came and showed us the raw meats for us to chose. He told me I would enjoy my dinner and he was so right. It was cooked perfectly. The salad bar had many options though it looks small it is really a great and is an option as a side. I’d suggest making a reservation and you will enjoy the dinner more than you can imagine!

This is a great hole in the wall. Very upscale, the service is great, and the food is probably the best in town for steaks. They even let you choose your own steak door them to cook for you. They have beautiful marble cut steak... and great pricing... I love it here..

I wish I could say we had a good experience. I apologize beforehand for how lengthy this review is, but this evening effectively ruined our anniversary plans and I feel that management should be aware so that improvements can be made for other future patrons to (hopefully) have a better experience than we did.
First, some context: My husband and I moved to Goldsboro in 2020. Since then, several people have recommended Carl & Chelle's for special occasions and said that their food was great. Well... it was our 13th anniversary and we finally decided to reserve a table (5:30 pm) for what we thought would be a very nice romantic dinner. We were very excited because we hardly ever treat ourselves to dinner and we even got a babysitter for the night.
When we entered the restaurant, it was immediately clear that it was not what we were expecting. It was very small, dark, and loud. There was a countertop with barstools near the entrance with an open kitchen that reminded me of a Denny's. We were seated in the far back corner directly under a vent that was blasting freezing cold AC. There was cheese and crackers on the table. We opened the menus and saw the expensive prices, but we remained optimistic that the food must be good at least and placed our order when our waitress finally came around. She was not friendly but we remained polite and tried to make the best of it.
For the next 30+ minutes, we waited and watched as every table but ours received very friendly and attentive service except us. They all seemed to be regulars and we felt very unwelcome. None of the wait staff even looked in our direction except for when a refill of Diet Coke was dropped off on our table without a word. By this point, it was past 6 pm and we still hadn't received anything to eat. No one came by with words like "We're sorry for the wait, your food will be out soon". Nothing. I've worked in food service and I would think that a restaurant with prices like this would be more caring of their guests, but we certainly didn't have anything resembling that experience.
The AC became noticeably stronger and colder to the point where we were literally shivering and finally my husband flagged down a lady and asked if she could turn down the AC, which we never do because we don't want to be "that" guest. It was intolerable. My husband could barely finish his sentence before she walked off. We had a movie we were going to see at 6:50 pm and it was clear at that point that we wouldn't be able to make it. After waiting another 10 minutes, we finally decided we had enough. We still had not been served and it was still very cold. We were starving and I'm sorry, but I didn't come to a restaurant like this to eat cheese and crackers. My husband and I politely asked if we could pay for our drinks and told the lady that it just wasn't working out and that we would be leaving.
She looked visibly shocked, so I explained that it was our 13th anniversary and this was not at all what we were expecting. We were never served or even checked on. I will say that she handled the situation well and (maybe?) seemed understanding but it was hard to tell. She told us that we didn't have to worry about paying for our drinks. This small act of courtesy is the only reason I gave two stars instead of one. We ended up going to another restaurant for our anniversary and then headed home afterwards as we now didn't have time to see a movie as planned.
Please give all of your guests the same attention that you give your regulars. Don't make them feel unwelcome and ignored because they could also become regulars if they enjoy the food and service.

Carl & Chelle’s Grill Room catering hit a homerun for us. We hired them to cater the opening night’s reception for a 3-day reunion of our B-52 squadron, which had been deactivated 41 years ago. We needed perfection on that first evening, and Carl & Chelle’s didn’t disappoint.
They went the extra distance for us—Fabulous, very inviting presentation;
Most importantly, they provided delicious food, that was very appealing to the palate. During the reception and in the days that followed, we received numerous positive comments about the food that was offered at this event;
The portions were perfect for our group;
The crowd favorites were the chicken salad tarts, and sliders got rave reviews, as well.
The salami flowers were an eye-appealing crowd pleaser.
The meatballs were delicious (I loved them), but we think they were overlooked because, without labelling via tent cards or something, there was no way to know they were in the silver vessels.
Very importantly, Carl and Chelle’s is responsive and very easy to work with. Their pricing is reasonable and presented in a way that enabled us to understand what we were receiving for the cost.
If you use Carl & Chelle’s, you won’t be disappointed!

Ribeye Steak Sandwich
The location and place is really small, but as far as design goes, it's quite pretty and welcoming, despite the lights not being very bright.
A WORD OF CAUTION: reservations are hightly recommended, if not critical. Personally, I would suggest you do your reservations as early as possible. My first visit involved a half an hour waitline. I doubt this is the fault of the staff, as they are mightily efficient. They got to us pretty quickly and food served shortly after.
The steak you see was pretty good, and I was full before I even got to the bread. The bread was sweet, but the asparagus was slightly too salty for my taste.
Would I recommend this place? Absolutely, but I'd recommend you make the earliest possible reservation.
Tiny little place with the best food ever. It's a special little place we have gone for special occasions. Not often to we pay up for meals. But, it's our anniversary so we just enjoyed our meals so much. The place stays busy.

My One Trip Salad Bar
Great service. Food was ok. The cheese and crackers served before meal was ok but cheese was so hard it broke the crackers wouldve been better if it was softened. Salad bar had a great selection. The ribeye cut at the table is what I was going to get but when they brought it out the chef's clothes was all over it from where he leaned over trying to hear other people order so I opted for the product cowboy ribeye instead. Atmosphere was more like a bar than a quiet nice steakhouse. We had a date night and expected to enjoy a good meal and be able to talk but it was so loud you almost had to yell to talk. Our server was amazing though. You couldn't ask for nicer people.
The best food ,the steak was awesome, everything was 110 percent dessert was killer,has to be the best I have been to, Raleigh &ang barn eat your heart out!!!!!
