Place is clean and pot is hygiene. Pay for the new sauce @ RM25 but the taste is not good. Long stick @ RM1.30 still acceptable but the short stick is RM3. 00 with only one or two small pieces on it. The worst is the steel stick which coast RM10 per stock 😭
Can't feel the Melaka hospitality from this shop.
I haven’t eaten satay celup in like the longest of times and didn’t know that Capitol Satay has moved to Kota Laksamana. Place wasn’t packed on a weekday night and we pretty much had most of the restaurant to ourselves. I certainly liked that there were more food choices now and that each table have their own fresh pot (yes they make the sauce in front of you). That would alleviate any concerns one might have about sharing pots with other diners (which happened in the past). Also remember that Lok Lok pretty much operates the same way where everyone shares the pot when it’s at the truck. Still, it brought back memories especially the taste. Overall I would go back and enjoy eating there again.
one of the famous "satay celup" in Melaka, because I was only traveling for a few days, the taste for me was just normal. the vegetables and “satay satay” in the refrigerator are not very fresh but the sauce is delicious.

Satay Pot Sauce
Supper time i expect 80% full, but it only 2 tables when i reached.
The sauce is not as good. The taste too intense till I can’t taste any “satay peanut taste”, a little bitter still can be tasted even though it cover by the sweetness of sugar.
RM20 for the sauce base, $1.30 for long stick which only 1-2 pieces. $3 for short stick (ham)
I wont come back anymore.

The new branch from the previous legendary shop in Bukit Cina is in a different location all together. Air-conditioned, clean and ample parking space.
There’s now a RM20 charge for the peanut sauce - i think it is fair because the give you a completey new sauce in a container.
There are alot of skewer options - and they’re RM1.30 each. Except for special food. But overall, not too expensive for the whole experience. Can chat with friends.
However, we weren’t told how long to cook the soup, or how to scoop it so the peanuts and spices dont sink to the bottom (something we learned only at the end of the meal). There were only 2-3 tables occupied, and 2-3 workers at the dining area, but none were interested to service us - at least tell us to mix the gravy or something. 🤷🏻♂️
So the gravy was very watery for us throughout the meal, and we kept wondering why it wasnt chunky and rich like the previous.
The meat on sticks were great tho. Prawns were also fresh. Mantou was horrible 🤣
✨ Overall Score: 5.5/10 ✨

Can Eat One Mehhh???
Not sure. Well the skewers were great, the gravy was not - partly because we didnt stir/ scoop it from the bottom. Well 🤷🏻♂️ we weren’t advise to do so. So, if they’re not interested to serve, i’m not interested to eat here.

Disappointed.
Expensive, not worth the money.
Not only do we need to pay per stick, we have to pay for the sauce (which isn't fantastic anyways)
The staffs didn't even bothered to help add sauce/water when our pot is left than 1/2 left.

Wanted to follow up on this field report for the visit made on 07 Apr.
Capitol Satay has been a legendary name for those who grew up in Malacca. Long never tried but not that bad. Not as spicy as original and taste wise, i would say still quite good. Our thoughts are, name is same, but owner changed already.
Sauce - yes, they charge RM20 for new pot, force selling. There is another famous outlet where charges RM30. So RM20 sounds cheaper. At RM20, the amount of peanuts and spice is tons.
Food - yes. range from 1.30, 3.00 and 10. Expensive? I felt quite ok. Other place probably sell all 1.30 and more ex food also sell higher. My other review of another place sells at RM1.00, comparatively, that outlet portion is slightly small.
Drink - we ordered coke, 100plus, was RM2.80 ( i think), the other cheaper one is rm3, and some other place probably like rm3.50~4.
Left over sauce tapao - we tapao back the sauce and they put in thick plastic bag, no extra charges. My mum told me she split into 3 small containers, all still filled with tons of nuts. The other famous outlet that charges rm30 per new pot, told us to tapao back, they have containers that is rm2 per container.
Conclusion. They may “look expensive”, in general, out of the previous i reviewed and another popular one at OKW road, i still prefer the sauce at this outlet.
Lastly, this place has indoor aircon and outdoor, much much cooler as compared to their old location.

I like it being more cleaner here, with air-cond and most importantly the broth is thick with loads of peanut and very aromatic herbs and spices, adopting a non-reuse concept... paying RM20 for a new pot of broth is cheap, especially some out there even charged RM30!
This is good as it's mix in infront of you and you are welcome to take the balance broth back for another session of luk luk at home 😅
New manager Samuel is really helpful and friendly, additional partner but still same owner l saw the Chinese lady boss.

They charge rm20 for a new pot but you don’t have an option to not change it as it is compulsory.
Personally i think it could be an option for the customers whether to change a new pot or not.
The choices were okay but the satay sauce was not as good as before for me personally.
Price was a little on the high side but the shop is comfortable.
The gravy is so-so! Not as good as previously. Overall, still edible but the ancient taste totally missing. The whole plus point is that you have bigger table and space, eating in air-conditioned room.
