Definitely a little hidden gem! We would pass by every time on our way to Baton Rouge and finally decided to stop. Great little outing!

We passed this place on our way to our campground and decided it looked worth checking out. We stopped by the next day and are glad we did. One of the shops there sells olives, olive oil, and vinegars, among other things. I like to cook, so of course, we had to go peruse. The store owner was very friendly and informative and even allowed us to taste test some of the products. We ended up purchasing two bottles of olive oil (garlic parmesan and zesty onion) as well as a jar of savory Italian garlic. Believe it or not, the garlic was so good they could be eaten all by themselves, like pickles! The owner says they do ship, though she doesn't have her online store set up yet, so you need to call and order from her directly. We also bought a t-shirt and stickers from one of the stores and, on the advice of the olive oil store owner, some teriyaki jerky from the Black Market Provisions store (which smelled heavenly!). We also got to see one of the alligators out back. If you like stopping at off-the-beaten path eclectic places, this is a place that is well worth the stop.
10/9/21 Came here for the first time (been wanting to go for at least a year since I found out about it), and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! The cafe on site has THE REAL DEAL BEIGNETS that I remember from a child. Beignets at Cafe Du Monde are NOT the same recipe beignets from the 80-early 90s. You will enjoy this place, too. A lot of great products from LA.

Cajun Village was my personal favorite souvenir shop in Southern Louisiana. The shop has anything you could think of- food items, LSU apparel, Louisiana t-shirts, toys for kids, magnets, candy, you name it. Nice and cool on the inside and a rustique vibe. Enjoyed this little pitstop when traveling from Baton Rouge to New Orleans.
Food is very good! Great souvenirs and gifts to bring back to enjoy and remember your trip to Louisiana.

A great find not too far from Baton Rouge. I started with Shrimp Bouree, Beignets and Cafe Au Lait at the quaint little cafe. Delicious! Next, I hit the shops, so much to see. The shops were filled with Louisiana everything and the people were so nice, Louisiana nice! I will definitely make this place a go to for when company comes from out of town and also when I'm craving a good beignet.

If you need a souvenir for someone, this is the place to go. T-shirts, keychains, gator heads, and a whole bunch more. Sweet treats and other savory gifts too. There's also a coffee house here. I didn't visit, but it looked nice. There are other shops here as well. Also, be sure to visit the resident gators in the back. Just follow the signs.
My favorite place to take people when they come visit us from other states. Coffee and breakfast is the best around and the little gift and souvenir shops are adorable. And you get to see their live alligator (huge fenced in area).
