Nice experience in Saõ Jorge even if I thought the plantation was bigger and explanation of the production of coffee had more details. But the coffee I had was amazing and also the homemade sweets.

Very good coffee and small treats. The host is very friendly. We even got a tour through the plantation with lots of details on how they make the coffee.
Bottom line, they put a lot of love into their product.

Coffee Beans
Small family owned coffee shop, they do offer tours of their small coffee plantation. It was so neat to see how they hand pick, dry and roast their coffee. The sisters also weave beautiful table runners and blankets.

A lovely family run coffee shop that grows it’s own beans. The coffee is delicious and the owners are very nice. They showed us through the small plantation behind the shop and explained their process and how they came to be. They also showed us a bunch of looms they use to weave carpets upstairs. We sat on the patio and had espressos (followed by beers). Well worth the drive, the road is winding and beautiful down to this little town (and fully paved / easy to drive).

Lovely place with their own coffee. It's the only place in Europe where coffee is cultivated. They sell it for quite a high price of 16 Euro for 100g. But if you consider that every step is done by hand and it's organic than it's fair. You can also try the coffee right there. They give tours if you ask and it's very interesting.

Getting down to the Café is an experience on its own but certainly worth it! They managed to cultivate coffee in the Northern hemisphere and grow the only coffee in Europe.
Since it’s a family-run small farm, they harvest only around 1t of coffee beans yearly. This restricts them from shipping and selling them outside the Café. So you can only taste this unique coffee right at the place and then take home a little 50g bag.
Little tip it’s best to visit between April to June when the majority of the harvesting, drying and roasting is happening!

Mr Nunes and his wife run this small business. The coffee is all handmade from the plants to the cup.

Maybe the experience is better if you are on a tour bus? We drove out there and were greeted by a grumpy old man that didn't want anything to do with us. I used Google translate to show and attempt to ask for coffee beans in Portuguese and he played dumb about it only saying "no English" over and over. Coffee was mediocre. The view was pretty spectacular. All in all, don't waste your time

The best coffee I've ever tasted. The grains are harvested and prepared right there by the owners. They are very friendly and even gave us a tour of their garden, and their many coffee plants.
