A true hidden gem. Nearby parking was not difficult to find. A wonderful little restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere next to the local fresh food market. Absolutely delicious food, prepared with a personal touch and served by the owners themselves.(Multiple languages spoken including Afrikaans!) We had the Bacalhau à bras, Bitoque and Polvo à lagareiro with Red velvet cake for desert. All dishes highly recommended. Most tender octopus we had to date! Great service and conversation with the owners. Thank you Dyllon, we will definitely be back. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person €10–15 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Today, we had a delightful family lunch at this cozy restaurant. I would like to especially commend the dishes – the octopus and bacalao were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful. The breaded chicken with potatoes also left an impression on us – the crispy coating and tender meat were spot on. The service was attentive and friendly, creating a pleasant atmosphere throughout the meal. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience; we will definitely be back! I find this one of the best places, if not the best place, to eat in Figueira da Foz. The food was excellent.though a small menu it had a good mixture of both portuguese and non- portugese offerings. The service was great there are 2 owners, one is the chef the other one provides the excellent service. It was warm, informative. One could not go wrong eating here! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Friendly host Dylan made us so welcome. Cafe Mercado is small restaurant with delicious food and warm atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal very much, husband had salmao with a creamy herb sauce and I had grilled robalo with lemon. The food was cooked perfectly, alongside salad and vegetables al dente. The presentation was lovely and the portions were just right. The best part of the visit to this intimate place though was meeting Dylan (child of the universe!) the host and David the French chef! Such lovely people and so interesting! We plan to return again next time on a Sunday for all day brunch with mimosas and eggs benedict. What a hidden treasure! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
