After a hot stroll around the Lake and Laguna, Mr G and I walked into Cafe Gluck for our daily meal. Pleasantly greeted by the staff, we were invited to sit anywhere and provided menus. The menus clearly indicated which items were vegan and the server gave us additional guidance on some other dishes that could be modified as well.
I started with the vegan pretzel and sweet mustard-phenomenal and served warm! Mr G had the potato salad and a side of the smoked tofu-both were delicious. I then had the meatloaf sandwich and Mr G had the currywurst- again so much flavor and not missing anything in the vegan versions. I wrapped my mains with the Burmese Tea Salad and tempeh which had unique flavors complimented with side of additional garlic and lime wedges (and chilis I ignored). Mr G indulged in the pancakes with peanut butter, banana, and chocolate which were also delicious and light and fluffy.
Still enjoying ourselves, we ended the meal with one slice of banana bread and the brownie. The banana bread was nice with the chia seeds adding a nice subtle crunch to the warm slice. The brownie was a deep rich cocoa flavor with a few chocolate morsels melted on top-not too dense and also warm, these both were the perfect compliment to the rest of the meal.
This restaurant also has several German holiday treats ready to take home, with even a few that were vegan! Advent calendars, cookies, and chocolates…we’ll surely be back again before the season to indulge a bit in these sweets.

Edit to add: they are also very dog friendly! We took our floofs for a walk around Laguna and came for a coffee afterwards and the dogs got fresh water and homemade treats. Thank you!!

Super cute original German coffee place in Canal Village. Super friendly and kind staff and lovely owner who make everyone feel most welcome. If you fancy typical German food or cakes or just like a chilled place to hang out you must try this.

Great new cafe with delicious German dishes. The owner Christina and the chef are German, so everything tastes really authentic. Lovely, bright area, great to hang out the whole afternoon and stuff your tummy with homemade delicious German cake 😋

Very poor service and food. The price clearly does not match the food quality. We tried a wide variety of food trying to find something that will satisfy us, but the only thing we received from the visit is disappointment. The waiters act very offhandedly towards customers. Very simple food which can be made at home a lot better. We were left very unhappy and disappointed after a breakfast at this place. This place surely doesn’t give off the feeling of Germany, and this place for sure isn’t worth visiting. Definitely don’t recommend.

Yummy German farmers’ breakfast: fried potato + egg + bacon = yummy! Tried their cakes as well. Very nice place! Will definitely come again!

Staff are friendly, cafe has a nice children’s play area and nice bookshelf with children’s books. The banana bread is not too sweet. Well balanced with banana flavor and nuts. Gluten-free brownie is also not too sweet and surprisingly fluffy! Apple crumble at first sight didn’t look that appetizing, but in actuality the layers of crispy top, creamy middle with apple slices and a caramel like crust is scrumptious.

Café Glück is a really nice place to try some authentic German food.
Pretzels, salad, coffee, Apfelschorle and cake were absolutely delicious.
I really missed some good German cuisine and I found it here :)
We will definitely come back many times and try everything on the menu!

This cafe was just a total gem! Amazing people and awesome food. They are doing everything with such passion and put a lot of heart in it. It would probably be much easier to offer something average, but not in Glück. Every dish is made with love and there are concepts and principles behind the menu. People are just the sweetest, they do more than you ask. Kids' corner is also very cute and useful (again, with intention - only natural materials etc).

A lovely place which became the first choice for breakfast and coffee breaks during our 3 weeks stay in Laguna. The personnel is very nice and friendly, food is tasty, coffee is good. There is a nice playroom for kids which occupied our 4 years son and helped me and my wife to have a peaceful breakfast :) Strongly recommend to visit this lovely place
