Excellent fine dining, although expensive the food is absolutely outstanding and the overall experience is quite memorable. The service is good, we were a group of about 13 people and all enjoyed. Reservation is required for a large group. The vibe of the place is very at home like with fireplace and nice brick walls. Good place for a date and a family dinner. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the service was great. Our waiter Tomaso was fantastic and guided us thru our first visit. Everything we got was very good even the dessert. It is a tad bit pricey but we would go back for sure Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
If you know you know- upscale vegan dining options are few and far between in the Metro Detroit area. Cafe Cortina has a dedicated vegan menu- starters and mains. Last night we celebrated my wife’s bday (with a reservation) in a lovely corner booth- private and cozy. We ordered the risotto and the crispy eggplant. Honestly… exquisitely delicious. Every single part of the meal was full of flavor and seasoned perfectly. Tips- their bread isn’t vegan, but a vegan side salad comes with your entree. They also surprised us with a lemon sorbet (and sparkler!) for dessert. A truly wonderful special occasion dining experience. I've experienced unique weddings before. I can confidently proclaim this place is absolutely perfect! The setting was warm, unique, and refined. The weather was warm but the event was set very cool. The servers danced about smiles as wide as the eye could see; truly excited to be a part of the electric energy this wedding party carried. The food was undoubtedly, hands down the BEST wedding food experience I have EVER tasted! Steak (arguably from heaven) the fish was FRESH and the vegetarian plate looks perfect, picture pefect!music your leg naturally beat to. A master mix of LOVE, connection, and unity all in one. Twas a magical night for all!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
One of the only restaurants that offers a truly beautiful experience across the spectrum of dietary restrictions - including vegan, gluten free, or halal diets. All of the meat is halal, there is a separate vegan menu, and imported gluten free pasta can be subbed in for any dish. On top of that, the service is incredible and the restaurant is beautiful, perfect for a special date or a family dinner. The food is amazing. First off, the vibes in this place were totally on point. It had that cozy, rustic Italian trattoria feel with black tablecloths and dimmed lighting that just screams "date night." It's the kind of place that makes you want to say "ciao" to the outside world and immerse yourself in foodie heaven. Now, let's dive into the main event – the food. I started with the lasagna, and I kid you not, it was amazing. Layers of pasta, rich meat sauce, and a boatload of gooey mozzarella – it was the definition of comfort food. I could eat that lasagna for days and never get tired of it. But here's the twist, fam – I also decided to try their steak, because, you know, sometimes you gotta switch it up. And let me tell you, that steak was a game-changer. It was tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. It was like a flavor explosion in my mouth, and I was living for it. But, here's where the plot thickens. The service was, um, a tad slow. It was a bit of a buzzkill because I was so ready to dive into some dessert options. Patience is a virtue, right? But hey, when that cake finally arrived, it was worth the wait. Layers and layers, coffee-soaked layers of deliciousness that just melted in my mouth. It was like a sweet apology for the slow service. So, here's the deal: if you're in Metro Detroit and you're craving some legit Italian comfort food that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance, this spot is a must-visit. Just make sure to bring some extra patience along with your appetite, because the service might take its sweet time. But trust me, the flavors are worth every minute of the wait. A romantic, elegant, and classy restaurant. The service staff was very helpful and attentive. Before we ordered, the waiter asked about dietary restrictions, and he actually understood the need, what items on the menu were already appropriate, and what items could be modified to work. But the best part was the food itself, delicious. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and was plated beautifully. We will definitely be back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We’ve been to Cafe Cortina twice. The service was top notch both times, but we had very different experiences with the food. The first time, we both absolutely loved our appetizers, mains and dessert. Everything was fantastic! I’m gluten-free, so they changed my pasta dish to a gluten-free one. It was great pasta and I had no issues. Our second visit, I fully enjoyed everything again. My husband, however, got the special for his main and said his lobster was overcooked and his pasta was very bland and the texture was off. Then, when I got home, I had very bad stomach pains and bloating that lasted all night and into the morning as I’m writing this now. Typically this happens when I’ve had gluten, so I’m wondering if they might have accidentally gave me the wrong pasta? I also think the prices are also very steep for what is served. Standouts: the great service and attention to detail, and quality food. Appetizers: the grilled shrimp was outstanding. The calamari was excellent, Rich and saucy. I had the tomahawk steak, it was a huge 32oz cut but so tender and perfectly cooked. I had it rare, and it was among the best I've had. Cocktails and wines were lovely, nothing to complain. The selection of cocktails was fewer than expected, but I'm sure they could whip up anything you asked for. Will be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
