Came for breakfast as usual. Pancakes were hard, gummy. Pancakes are lacking milk and eggs, and not served with enough butter. same thing with biscuits. Not enough consistency. Needs to be more improved. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $50–100 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Chicken Fried Steak

This place is great. We used to go to the one in Oakland. This one is a much better atmosphere. Even when it is busy, the wait is rarely very long. Super clean, great food and staff are the best. We started coming decades ago! The service remains 5 star. The food is always served hot and tasty. Lots of hand crafted original goodness going on in this place. From the shrimp and grits to the scrambles to the Jambalaya all lead to the yummiest. The club sandwich, bacon cheeseburger with curly fries and a chocolate shake will make your belly smile too. You will have to keep coming back until you try everything. Service Dine in Meal type Breakfast Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Potato Soup

Old school beige and brown diner. There’s a bar right as you walk in. Seating is clean and comfortable. Service was very friendly and efficient. Had a Belgian waffle and side of eggs and bacon. The bacon was cut thick. Ordered it crispy, but because it’s a thick cut I don’t think it’s really easy to make it crispy without burning it. Still good bacon. Eggs medium cooked perfectly. The waffle was hot and fresh and light. Server was friendly and attentive, and at one point the (assume he is) manager came to check in and refill our coffees. Went here on a rainy evening after an event nearby. We were looking for a family-friendly restaurant because we had a 4 year old with us and this was perfect. There were hearty portions, and the food was good. I took off a star because something was a little off about my rice. I felt like it was kind of bland, and I should've used the butter sauce on it instead of my veggies to give it more flavor or something. Took a piece of apple pie home, and it was delicious. Breakfast on Dec 24, so my wife and I hit this restaurant for brunch while in Vallejo for my birthday. It was packed, but we were seated within 5 minutes and presented with coffee while we perused the menu. I was excited about cheese grits, and my Wife wanted the cinnamon biscuit with cream cheese frosting. We then ordered the Tex-Mex scramble and the pork chop breakfast. Seriously, MORE food than we thought and was better than expected... except the cold, lumpy cheese grits. Photos can't do the description properly, but 2 bites was all I could suffer. The scramble had to be 5-6 eggs with the appropriate mix-ins and potatoes, piled with cheese, cilantro, salsa, and black beans. Her 2 pork chops were enormous, and she could only eat a partial one, but she did eat her entire biscuit! The service was prompt until our food arrived, then almost non-existent as we had only the original of coffee and ZERO water to suffice until the bill was delivered. Yes, they were swamped with customers, but I feel they're used to it, so why stop?! Will I return? Maybe, but they have to fix the grits situation and offer better service once the food has been delivered. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
