Get the Sourdough Grilled Cheese! Absolutely the Best grilled cheese we have ever had! Great drinks, Espresso Martini, and small plates of great food. Come and get some. Next to our hotel, the Inn at St. John. The staff is great and the place is nicely decorated and is the perfect size for hanging with friends. We are just visiting from Ohio and will come back for sure!! Price per person $10–20

We discovered this " best kept secret" while staying at the Inn at St. Johns. It's incredible to be able to say that every aspect of our meal, the colossal shrimp that was grilled with perfect textures and flavor, to the brilliant creme brulee and wonderful port, is worth the visit and a return! Portion sizes are perfect for small plated meals, absolutely no waste. Bread and olive is an establishment where the value is equal between meal, service and quality of atmosphere... Very well done! Great laid back ambiance (loved the vintage jazz playlist). Well chosen small plate choices. Loved everything except the unripe tomatoes in the special burrata and tomatoes (it's still homegrown tomato season so should have been better). Bread and olives - very good; seared tuna (sesame coated, perfectly cooked) - exceptional; martini - large and very well-mixed; special burrata/tomato plate - nice blend of flavors except for the unfortunate tomato. Surprisingly reasonable prices for high quality food and drinks. Price per person $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A relaxing atmosphere with great service and delicious small plates. Freshly made food, and in-house prepared desserts.. Great price point for the quality.

Absolutely lovely, delicious small plates and refreshing specialty drinks in a clean and cozy space. Had their version of shrimp cocktail with an expresso martini. Great addition to Portland. This place has become very popular with folks that want light fare and amazing cocktails. Simply the Best!!! Paul Hood Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Stopped in after the show last night. Loved the atmosphere. We all had very tasty items from off the menu. Good wine selection by the glass. Sarah is an excellent host. Very reasonably priced. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Everything from the drinks to the ambience to the decor was 5 stars! We had such lovely conversations with Sarah and other locals who seem to just adore this place. The night we had here was one for the books! Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Another great evening at Bread and Olive. Sarah really knows her wines. And, she can cook! Tonight's specials board did not disappoint. The seared scallops were so good that I almost ordered a second plate. 😋 The featured Affogato was the perfect finish. If you are weary after walking around Portland, make sure to treat yourself to some delicious small plates and one of their creative cocktails.
From the wine to the food, everything really really good! Shrimps... amazing! Tuna... awesome! And grilled Caesar salad 🙌👌

Amazing food & service at the Bread and Olive. The shrimp cakes are unique & scrumptious & Olivia , the bartender, can't be beat. Good company! Cool crowd!
