Disappointing experience at Bombay Restaurant (HAMID BROS) on Jalan Mahkota, Pahang. As a biryani enthusiast, I was recommended the lamb biryani, but it fell short of expectations. Despite the anticipation of a flavorful experience, it turned out to be an ordinary mutton biryani served with an oily curry that didn’t enhance the dish.
Additionally, the cashier’s attitude was unwelcoming and somewhat dismissive, which detracted from the overall dining experience. It felt as though my presence wasn’t valued.
Hopefully, the restaurant management takes this feedback seriously to improve the quality of their dishes and customer service. As someone who appreciates good biryani, I was left wanting more from this visit.

We went to Kuantan for first time holiday and went to this restaurant. The manager saw our car plate number and he knew we were not local. He greeted us and guide us through with some dishes which he claim to be famous among locals. The foods and the drinks are really delicious. We as a family, love it. Prices are reasonable as well.
Well if you are looking for a great Indian style banana leaf meal, this place will fall short abit from the traditional Indian banana leaf standards. But the shop interior is quite well done and cozy to dine in. Food, I would rate as average. Have not tried the briyani yet though.
Food is average. Kids enjoyed the Briyani. Don’t be deceived by the name Bombay cause this is not a North Indian restaurant but South Indian. Personally, I think the dishes have too much masala so the taste is no longer as good as authentic south Indian dishes. The tea with fresh milk & Indian dessert Kesari is a must try and for the food as I said, give a try but don’t have expectations! Bon Appetit!
Limited choice of food. We came for lunch. Limited side dishes. Shop was empty
Highly not recommended for vegetarian- only banana leaf with limited 3 vege available and no other side dishes

The place has no dishes from Bombay nor any authentic southern Indian food. It's a pretentious Indian place. The food is below average compared to other places but the prices are equal or higher than Klang, Johor Bahru and Penang. They billed for different items that were expensive. Disappointed
This is no ordinary 'mamak' place. The service is great. The food is greater. Mutton curry is a must-try, while the plain paratha is outstanding. Definitely worth revisiting
The Lamb Briyani is alright, rice lacks aroma and flavour, and it’s a tad dry. The lamb itself was good and tasty, however it was a little over cooked as well. The Appalam was a little bit too oily, probably because it was from the bottom.
The Sambar was not too bad and tasty.
This restaurant has very good hospitality, you can see that the head (big boss) is dedicated in running the restaurant. Perhaps if they improve their rice, and a little bit more lamb, cooked to perfection will be great.
I would return to this restaurant to give it another go, because of the big boss’ personality and dedication in wanting to make this restaurant successful.
Talk to him about the food, he’s all ears for it.
Nice experience halal food. Especially the Banana Leaf Rice. Also nice Masala Tea. Also Chennai Chai (Fresh Cow Milk tea). Recommended to eat especially those who come from Northern state in Malaysia to feel the Nasi Kandar food.
