Make sure to stop at this lovely place for refreshments. Very friendly owners, impressive baobab trees, lovely Portuguese food (breakfast and lunch) and homemade cakes and cookies. They have excellent coffee, lemonade and ice cream. Leave the R527 about 9 km from Hoedspruit, turn right when you see the signs for baobab and Bom Apetite (same gravel road that will lead you to Jessica the Hippo) 3 km down the road turn left and follow the baobab signs. We used to visit this restaurant when we visited Jessica the hippo, it was then called the Upside Down restaurant but has now changed hands and serves very good Portuguese food. The owners are very friendly and because we didn’t know what to order, Neil put together a very nice platter with various dishes for us to try. We are returning in a couple of days with our son who is visiting from Australia - he will just love the chocolate log, best dessert ever!
