It is extremely unprofessional and off putting for manager ( or owners) to discipline / fire employees with customers present. I just wanted some sushi. Foods fine- but I’m sitting here in the afternoon on a SATURDAY listening to a girl be berated. Really awful behavior as an employer, and seemingly toxic atmosphere. It was an emotional exchange, loud, and rude to myself and the employee. No one deserves to be embarrassed like that. I’ve Been here 5 minutes, and I want to run away before I even get my food. Do better. You can do this outside, in private, or not during hours. Even if the employee is in the wrong or needs coaching- There’s very few situations in which it’s necessary to make a scene like was just made. As a business owner myself- this is really off putting. I wouldn’t come back for this reason alone. Two stars cause food just was okay, but that’s being generous giving what I just sat through. Now im trying to eat, and the staff is gossiping about the situation. Drama. Just drama. Couldn’t even finish the food. I just left as soon as I could. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Terrible sushi. Go to sams instead save yourself time money and experience. The philadelphia roll salmon is not salmon it's something like Chilean trout which looks similiar but taste way differnent and the sushi is not done correctly (as by normal standards), very poorly executed. I will never go back or recommend to anybody. I had to spit out the so called sushi and almost puked it up at the table with my friends. Smelled of old fish, tasted worse and I completely lost my appetite. I've had better sushi for a lot less and made properly. philadelphia roll and California rolls are terrible. I would like my money back but whatever I get it. Going to fight them for that is not something I want to waste my time on. Just like Tsunami (Was great until it went into becoming a Ghost Kitchen ) this place will close down shortly. I can't believe companies try to cut cost so much that they destroy themselves. Making a profit is hard but for whatever reason this is the exact reason I rather make sushi at home and get what I paid for. Great little hole in the wall. My husband got me addicted to sushi. I had no idea that not all sushi was raw and tried a California roll and similar options. We were debating where to eat last weekend for dinner, and my daughter found this in the local listing. Parking was a bit fun but we got in and we're seated right off. Within 15 minutes of arriving, they were packed. We picked the calamari, shrimp tempora, and coconut shrimp for appetizers. We ordered a bit more than normal to try a few options and have leftover. The salads with miso dressing were fresh and dressing perfect. The miso soup was flavorful with green onions. The appetizers were quick and had a nice coating. I did like the coating on the shrimp more than thecalamari, but both were great. We got 6 different rolls. California Hello kitty Spiderman Heaven Tiger Fat Santa. My favorite was Spiderman and fat Santa Rolls. I loved most of them. The 2 my daughter got had raw ingredients, and I did not try those, but she said they were awesome. The fried cheesecake is a must try! I packed up everything left and got home already looking forward to my leftover lunch the following day when I slipped and dropped the container. Our big fluffy ginger kitty. However, I was thrilled....till we cleaned it up before he could feast.... I’ve been coming to Blue Ocean since they opened. It’s truly authentic and delicious. The owners are extremely kind and gifted at their craft. They and their staff always make feel like we are right at home. We live out of state now and make a point to come in every time we visit Pueblo. Thank you so much for the continued good service. You are the best. Highly recommend. P.S. try the sour salmon wrap. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I had an unsatisfactory experience at this local Japanese restaurant. The quick 3-minute food service raised concerns. They served what appeared to be microwave bagged chicken strips with faux grill marks, passing them off as grilled teriyaki chicken in a bento box. Additionally, the salad suffered from improperly dried lettuce, resulting in a soggy texture and poor dressing adherence. The miso soup was only lukewarm. My Nigiri Sushi was marred by an unusual vinaigrette topping, which I found unappealing and not in line with traditional preparation. Furthermore, the California roll didn't seem fresh, likely prepared in advance, possibly even the previous day. Blue Ocean Sushi provided a truly exceptional dining experience. Our waitress, Estrella, was a standout in her service. She was remarkably attentive, consistently polite, and impressively quick in meeting our needs throughout the meal. The quality of the food was top-notch, and the flavors were delightful. Thanks to Estrella and the delicious dishes, I'm already looking forward to my next visit. This restaurant is a must-visit for any sushi lover! Great place for a relaxing meal. The calamari salad was unlike anything I’ve tasted or expected. It was full of flavor and delicious! The chicken teriyaki was also great. The hostess was extremely patient and friendly. I would recommend the Blue Ocean Sushi for a stop in and dining. The outside atmosphere is also great at the city walk! Enjoy!!
